The will of a poor orphan student
(Baonghean.vn) - At the age of 6, a serious illness took away her father. Two years later, her mother left to work far away, only returning home during Tet. Kim Tra My, a Thai ethnic, is currently a 6th grade student at Chau Binh Secondary School (Quy Chau) and lives under the care of her 80-year-old grandmother.
Born into a farming family in Binh 3 village, Chau Binh commune (Quy Chau), compared to her peers, the journey to school and pursuing education of this poor student encountered many difficulties. Her father passed away when Tra My was just starting first grade, followed by her 5-year-old sister, the burden of making a living weighed heavily on her mother's shoulders. To raise 2 children and her elderly grandmother, her mother had to work far away, only returning home for Tet every year, when she was only in second grade. Since then, the two sisters had to live with their elderly grandmother.

In the old charity house, located in the middle of the hill, there were only 3 grandmothers and grandchildren left. The first days when mother went away, for Tra My those were the most difficult days, not a single day did the two sisters have a full breakfast, sometimes cold rice, other times cassava, sweet potatoes or the most luxurious meal was a package of instant noodles divided in half, not a single good night's sleep because of the lack of mother's warmth. Although she was only 7 years old at that time, but as the eldest sister in the family, she had to help her 75-year-old grandmother.
Outside of school hours, she had to take care of all the household chores herself, such as cooking, doing the laundry, going to the forest to collect firewood, and taking care of every meal for the three of them. With the little money her mother sent home, she had to save every penny to buy rice every month... But despite the difficult life, the little student refused to surrender to fate.
For 6 consecutive years, I have been an excellent student, praised by teachers in many ways, loved by friends, especially in 6th grade, I won a prize in the district-level math competition for excellent students.

Talking about Tra My, teacher Kim Thi Ngoc - the homeroom teacher said: "Tra My is a good student, studies well in all subjects, and is also the student with the most difficult circumstances in the class, but she always tries to overcome everything to concentrate on studying and become an example for her classmates to follow."
Knowing that the road ahead for this young student is long and full of obstacles, I believe that with her willpower to overcome difficulties and determination to study, Tra My will be able to fulfill her dreams and ambitions.
