Nghia Hoa (Thai Hoa Town): Economic development, preserving cultural identity

Many congress targets were achieved and exceeded, creating an important premise for the commune to reach new heights in economic development, associated with preserving cultural identity and promoting the value of Lang Vac archaeological site.

Nghia Hoa is about 4.5 km south of Thai Hoa Town center. The 2010 - 2015 term marked a fairly comprehensive development in all areas, the targets set by the 22nd Party Congress of the commune were basically achieved and exceeded. The production value rate reached 17%; the budget revenue for the whole period reached 5.6 billion VND; the economic structure shifted in a positive direction, in the right direction: agriculture, forestry and fishery accounted for 42.37%, industry - handicrafts - construction reached 34.72%, services - trade accounted for 22.92%.

In the field of agricultural production, Nghia Hoa has stabilized the rice area of ​​nearly 65 hectares, corn of 85 hectares, sugarcane of 120 hectares associated with intensive investment, introducing new varieties associated with actively applying technical solutions to increase productivity and output. In addition, a number of new varieties have been introduced into cultivation according to the model of applying irrigation techniques that have proven effective such as: planting 3 hectares of watermelon, with an average yield of 25 - 27 tons/ha/crop; Coordinated with the Agricultural Extension Station and the Western Vocational College to train and transfer science and technology to farmers, thereby developing a number of new plant and animal models that have initially proven effective, such as: beekeeping for honey, lily growing, implementing a project to raise breeding cows and beef cattle with 50 participating households... Industry - Handicraft - Construction also had a breakthrough with the doubling of the number of households specializing in welding, carpentry... especially adding more households to the craft of fine art wood, feng shui stone...

In the field of basic construction, implementing the motto of attracting resources "The State and the people work together", Nghia Hoa has made its mark with a series of newly invested construction works and projects, contributing to creating a new face for the commune: upgrading Hon Suong 1, 2 dam, Dong Chuong dam, Mong village irrigation canal project, road to the commune center, rural traffic system, cultural houses of hamlets... with a total value of about 78.9 billion VND. Implementing the national target program on new rural construction, thanks to effective mobilization, people donated 16,168m2 of land, contributed 4,900 working days, dismantled 2,000m of fences... thereby building 26.9 km of new rural traffic roads. Up to now, the commune has achieved 16/19 criteria, striving to reach the new rural destination in 2015. The trade and service sector continues to have good development with transportation services, agricultural production, and other types of services.

In the field of education and training, the number of excellent students at the city and school levels increases every year, the rate of mobilizing school-age students and children with semi-boarding meals reaches 100%, school facilities and equipment are invested, currently striving to build 2 schools that meet national standards in 2015; Medical work and public health care are given attention, in 2012 the commune met national standards on health; cultural and sports activities are given attention, policies for people with meritorious services and policy families are well implemented, focusing on the work of gratitude, hunger eradication, poverty reduction, job creation... consolidating and building internal solidarity, creating high solidarity and consensus within the Party, government, organizations and people.

Entering the period of 2015 - 2020, Nghia Hoa has many favorable conditions, the Lang Vac Archaeological Site was approved by the Provincial People's Committee for planning in association with ecological and spiritual tourism; works and projects for socio-economic development, infrastructure continue to be invested, gradually completed and put into use, creating conditions for local socio-economic development. The Party Committee aims to improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization, strengthen solidarity and unity, mobilize all resources, accelerate economic development, improve the material and spiritual life of the people, strive to complete the national target program on new rural construction, making Nghia Hoa a well-off commune of Thai Hoa Town. To achieve the above goals, the Party Committee and people of Nghia Hoa focus on implementing the following main tasks:

In the field of agriculture, forestry and fishery: Convert to growing crops with high economic value, increase the coefficient of agricultural land use. Encourage people to boldly apply scientific and technological advances to agricultural products, coordinate with agricultural extension stations to convert new varieties and crops such as oranges, grapefruits, apples, guavas, etc., encourage household economy, guide farmers to plan reasonable barns, implement measures to ensure environmental hygiene, etc.

Based on the orientation of 7 specialized agricultural zones: Zone 1: specialized in wet rice cultivation on a total area of ​​35.88 hectares, including high-yield, high-quality varieties, concentrated in fields such as: Dong Chuong, Dong Chua, Dong Vai, Cau Bong, Dong Giong, Hoa Binh; Zone 2: Specialized in ornamental plants and vegetables with a total area of ​​over 80 hectares, concentrated in Nong Truong beach, Hung Day, Tan Ap beach; land in Dong Hoa hamlet 1; Zone 3: Specialized in growing crops with a total area of ​​130.36 hectares in Dien Binh beach, Thung beach, riverbank; Chuoi valley, village gate...; Zone 4: concentrated livestock and poultry farming on an industrial scale such as: Dairy farming is arranged in the Xang beach area in hamlet 4 according to the scale of concentrated industrial-scale farms; Zone 5: Aquaculture based on the utilization of water surface of 4 dams: Dong Chuong dam, Hon Suong I dam, Hon Suong II dam and Dong Giong dam; Zone 6: Specialized in growing perennial fruit trees with a total area of ​​89.83 ha, mainly growing oranges, grapefruits, apples, guavas... concentrated in Dong Hoa hamlet; hamlet 4; Ru Giang. And Zone 7 specializes in afforestation and enclosure with a total area of ​​292.04 ha.

In Lang Vac area, the commune encourages investment in developing spiritual eco-tourism activities. Focus on developing in 3 sub-zones: Sub-zone 1: Spiritual tourism area with a total area of ​​161 hectares located at Lang Vac Archaeological Site, including land reserved for the conservation of Lang Vac Archaeological Site and a system of technical infrastructure works serving festivals and visitors. Sub-zone 2: Service - commercial area with a total area of ​​11.74 hectares and is planned at 3 locations concentrated on vacant land and combined in residential areas, along both sides of the inter-commune road to the Ho Chi Minh trail, from Giong bridge to the border of Lang Vac Archaeological Site. Sub-zone 3: Commercial center (market) with a total area of ​​0.5 hectares located on Cac Cu hill with the formation of a new rural market.

Cultural and social fields: Focus on investing in facilities and improving the quality of teaching and learning in schools. Strive to have a school that meets national standards at level 2 by the end of the term. Implement well the work of taking care of people's health, examination and treatment at stations and national health programs. Manage cultural services well in the area, build a healthy cultural environment. Complete the system of cultural and sports institutions that meet national standards from communes to hamlets. Implement well the policy of gratitude, policy families, war invalids, sick soldiers, and people with meritorious services to the revolution. Do well the work of job creation, promote labor export; Effectively implement the national target program on hunger eradication, poverty reduction and social security policies.

Throughout that process, the Party Committee of the commune focused on building a strong Party and political system, creating solidarity and unity within the Party, consensus among the people, concretizing the congress resolution with programs and projects to strive to build Nghia Hoa commune to develop comprehensively and strongly, build a commune that meets new rural standards, and become a bright spot in the Southeast of Thai Hoa town.
