(Baonghean.vn) - As one of the "four great sacred temples" of Nghe An, Qua Son Temple, Boi Son Commune (Do Luong) is famous for its scale, artistic value, and sacredness, and has become an attractive destination for tourists from inside and outside the province.

Qua Son Temple worships Uy Minh Vuong Ly Nhat Quang (the 8th Prince of King Ly Cong Uan), who was the Governor of Nghe An from 1041-1057. During his 16-year tenure as Governor, Uy Minh Vuong Ly Nhat Quang achieved many glorious achievements: fighting the enemy, protecting the border, building Nghe An into a prosperous region, a reliable base of the royal court. With his great achievements, after his death, the people of Nghe An built many temples to worship him, including Qua Son Temple. The temple was built at the foot of Qua Mountain, next to Lam River. In the past, the temple was massive, majestic, and solemn with 7 buildings and 24 compartments made of ironwood. In 1952, French colonial planes bombed the temple, causing it to become a ruin. In 1996, with contributions from the people and support from the State budget, the temple was restored. In 2020-2022, implementing a restoration project with a budget of more than 70 billion VND, the temple has a spacious appearance like today. Items such as the three-entrance gate, ritual gate, lower, middle, upper halls, left and right wings, house of the local god, traditional house, mausoleum area, ceremony house, warehouse, management house... were built, restored, and rearranged in a symmetrical and harmonious manner.
