Previously, on March 20, Thai Hoa Town Medical Center received information about a case of a person who had just returned from taking his child to a medical examination and treatment in Hanoi, so they sent medical staff to find out epidemiological information.

At this time, the woman declared that she had taken her child to Hanoi for a medical examination, but only at a private clinic, not related to Bach Mai Hospital. Medical staff recommended and suggested that this woman should self-isolate at home and monitor her health. However, she still went out to play sports and met many people.

On the morning of April 1, this woman had symptoms of cough and sore throat, so she went to the Northwestern Regional General Hospital for examination... At the hospital, this woman declared that she had previously taken her child to the Neurology Department, Bach Mai Hospital for examination and treatment.

Immediately, the hospital had to put her in quarantine, notify Thai Hoa Town Medical Center to deploy measures to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic, and notify Nghe An Province Center for Disease Control to collect samples for testing.

Speaking to Nghe An Newspaper reporters, Mr. Pham Chi Kien - Chairman of Thai Hoa Town People's Committee said that according to the list received by the locality, there were 27 cases in the area that had come to Bach Mai Hospital for examination and treatment during the time the epidemic occurred here.

As soon as the information was received, the locality promptly implemented quarantine measures. To date, 14 of these people have exceeded the 14-day period since returning from Bach Mai. Of the remaining 13, 3 are being quarantined at a facility in Long Son, one is being treated in a hospital, and the rest are being quarantined and closely monitored at home.

"However, we also raised the possibility that there were people who had gone to Bach Mai Hospital for examination during that time but for some reason were left out and were not on the list. Therefore, in recent days, the authorities in Thai Hoa have "gone to every alley, knocked on every door, checked every person" to check for the most effective epidemic prevention" - Mr. Kien said and suggested that people need to declare their health honestly, avoiding situations like the woman in Nghia Thuan commune.

Nghe An has nearly 1,000 cases that have been examined and treated at Bach Mai Hospital during the epidemic. It is expected that in the next few days, all of these cases will have their samples taken for Covid-19 testing.
