According to the latest guidance from the Ministry of Health, they will be given a booster shot 28 days to 3 months after the last dose of the primary dose. The type of vaccine to be injected is the same as the primary dose or mRNA technology vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna). People who are indicated to receive a booster shot, after receiving the booster shot, are considered to have completed the primary dose.
Meanwhile, booster dose, also known as the booster dose, is intended for people 18 years of age and older who have received the basic dose or supplementary dose, ensuring coverage for all people with underlying diseases, people needing long-term care at medical facilities, people 50 years of age and older, people directly testing, caring for, and treating Covid-19 patients, and medical staff.
Regarding the type of vaccine, if the primary or supplementary injections are of the same type of vaccine, the booster injection will be of the same type or mRNA vaccine. If different types of vaccines have been previously injected, the booster injection will be of mRNA vaccine.
If the primary or supplementary dose is a Sinopharm vaccine, a booster dose of the same type or an mRNA vaccine or a viral vector vaccine (AstraZeneca vaccine) can be given.
The interval between 1 booster shot is at least 3 months after the last shot of the basic dose. Compared to the guidance issued by the Ministry of Health in early December, the time for additional injections has been shortened to 3 months, instead of 6 months as before. For those who have contracted Covid-19, the injection should be given immediately after recovery and completion of medical isolation according to regulations.
