On the morning of June 11, a working delegation of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development led by Mr. Hoang Nghia Hieu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department, inspected the prevention and control of African swine fever in some communes of Nghi Loc and Dien Chau districts.

In Nghi Loc district, the delegation inspected the checkpoints in Nghi Hoa, Nghi Long and Nghi Xa communes. The inspection showed that the checkpoint in Nghi Hoa commune did not meet technical requirements. That is, the disinfection pit was not technically correct, had insufficient humidity, and did not have a rope to pull the pole to block it.

At some checkpoints in Nghi Long and Nghi Xa communes, although the disinfection pits meet requirements, the barriers do not ensure proactive vehicle blocking.

In Dien Chau district, the delegation inspected checkpoints in the communes of Dien Xuan, Dien Dong, Dien Thai, Dien Nguyen, and Dien Hanh.

Through the on-site inspection, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Hoang Nghia Hieu said that African swine fever is currently complicated, with more and more new outbreaks occurring in the province. Therefore, localities cannot be negligent or subjective, and must "fight the epidemic like fighting the enemy" as directed by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

He suggested that Nghi Loc and Dien Chau need to do a good job of monitoring, propagating, and mobilizing the entire political system to participate. Strictly implement the setting up of checkpoints and guarding checkpoints. Because checkpoints are very important in preventing pathogens from leaving the epidemic area. The checkpoints must comply with the technical regulations of the veterinary agency: Location, specifications for making disinfection pits, barriers, ropes to pull the poles...

In this regard, the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Stations of the districts must be responsible for guiding the localities.

Up to now, Dien Chau district has had 18 communes recorded with African swine fever. The total number of pigs culled is 838, with a total weight of nearly 35.5 tons, accounting for 1/4 of the province's total number of culled pigs.

Nghi Loc district currently has 13 communes with the epidemic, the number of pigs destroyed is 194 pigs, total weight is more than 9 tons.
