It is forecasted that in the next 12 hours, storm No. 5 will move westward, traveling about 25km per hour, making landfall in the provinces from Quang Binh to Quang Nam with the strongest winds of level 8-9 (60-90km/hour), gusting to level 11, then weakening into a tropical depression. At 4:00 p.m. on September 18, the center of the tropical depression was at about 16.6 degrees North latitude; 106.3 degrees East longitude, in the Central Laos region. The strongest winds near the center of the tropical depression were level 6-7 (40-60km/hour), gusting to level 9.

In the next 12 to 24 hours, the tropical depression will move westward at 20-25km per hour, then weaken into a low pressure area over Thailand.
