(Baonghean.vn) - On May 6, the Department of Orthopedics and Burns, Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital successfully performed knee surgery on patient NTLC (9 years old, Do Luong district). This is a rare case, when the child's knee joint had a sharp foreign object for the past 2 years but it did not affect his health.
According to the child's father, 2 years ago, C. unfortunately fell and landed on his left knee on a broken piece of a bowl, causing a bleeding wound. After treating the soft tissue of the wound, the child returned to normal activities. Over time, the wound healed and he was able to walk again.
However, recently, while running and jumping, C. continued to fall and hit his left knee on the ground. Immediately after the fall, he experienced severe pain in his knee joint, which increased with movement. His family quickly took him to the district hospital for examination.
