As for the defendant Nguyen Thi Huong, she did not file an appeal and accepted the verdict announced by the first instance court. Meanwhile, the defendant Le Thi Dung filed an appeal against the first instance verdict of the People's Court of Hung Nguyen district.
After hearing the presiding judge read her entire appeal, defendant Le Thi Dung requested to appeal the entire judgment of the first instance trial. The reason given by defendant Le Thi Dung was that when she filed her appeal, she had not yet received the judgment of the first instance trial.

Exercising the right to prosecute at the trial, the representative of the People's Procuracy of Nghe An province also reported the appeal of the People's Procuracy of Nghe An province against the first instance judgment.
During the interrogation, defendant Le Thi Dung re-presented the contents of the appeal and argued that the Court of First Instance's trial of the defendant for the crime of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties" was incorrect. The fact that defendant Le Thi Dung once received allowances for Party cell secretary, support for graduate studies... and then continued to convert these contents into teaching hours to pay for overtime (second payment) in 2015 and 2016 was based on internal spending regulations.
During the ongoing trial, the Trial Council informed that Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thuy, a person with related rights and obligations, was also present (Ms. Thuy had previously submitted a request to be tried in absentia).
On the part of the presiding judge, Judge Hoang Ngoc Anh asked questions to clarify the sources of revenue at the Hung Nguyen District Continuing Education Center; the establishment of internal spending regulations during the time defendant Le Thi Dung was director and defendant Nguyen Thi Huong was accountant.
In this questioning part, the answers of the two defendants Le Thi Dung and Nguyen Thi Huong had some contradictions.

Representatives of the People's Procuracy of Nghe An province also questioned defendant Le Thi Dung, revolving around the conversion of teaching hours to pay for overtime and receive the second allowance.
The presiding judge requested representatives of the Department of Finance and Planning, the People's Committee of Hung Nguyen district, the Treasury of Hung Nguyen district and the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An to clarify the establishment of internal spending regulations, as well as financial collection and expenditure at the Hung Nguyen District Continuing Education Center.
The questioning lasted until 11:30, so the court adjourned. The trial resumed at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon.
