Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh visits and encourages people in flooded areas of Nghe An
On the morning of July 24, Comrade Mai Van Chinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister and the Central working delegation continued to inspect and direct the response and recovery work for the flood in Con Cuong commune; visited, encouraged and gave gifts to share the difficulties and losses of the people of Nghe An province.
The delegation included leaders of Nghe An province: Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of departments and branches.

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh visited and encouraged families whose houses were deeply flooded in Tan Lien village, Con Cuong commune.
Yesterday, July 23, these families had their homes flooded more than 1 meter deep, submerging all their property and belongings. The water has now receded, leaving behind a layer of mud nearly half a meter thick. Immediately after the water receded, military and police forces arrived to assist the family in cleaning up and scraping away the thick layer of mud.

Giving gifts and sharing the losses and difficulties of the people, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh said that ensuring the absolute safety of human life is the top priority. Natural disasters are something no one wants, so he hopes that people will try and make efforts to soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that although the water has receded somewhat, people absolutely must not be complacent. Above all, they must ensure safety of life; take advantage of the receding water to clean up the environment to prevent disease outbreaks after the flood.

At the scene, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung emphasized that, strictly implementing the direction of the Secretariat, the Prime Minister, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment in responding to and overcoming floods, Nghe An province has urgently mobilized all forces and means to support the evacuation of people and property to a safe place with the view of absolutely protecting the safety of people's lives and property.

For areas where the floodwaters have receded, the province has directed forces to quickly assist people in cleaning up the environment. The health sector has been instructed to immediately implement disinfection measures, ensure environmental sanitation, food hygiene and safety, and prevent the outbreak of epidemics; at the same time, it is recommended that people strictly follow the government's instructions to ensure safety during floods.
Nghe An province is currently working closely with military forces to use helicopters to supply necessities, food, medicine, and drinking water to people in isolated areas that cannot be reached by road.


Next, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh visited, encouraged, and presented gifts to more than 300 households, with nearly 1,000 people being evacuated to Pu Mat National Park.
Here, the Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactive, positive and timely actions of the government in evacuating people to safety, preventing human casualties and ensuring a stable life for the people.


Visiting people's lives, encouraging them, sharing their property losses and hardships, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the first and foremost task of authorities at all levels is to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
Therefore, the Deputy Prime Minister hopes and requests that people continue to strictly follow the government's instructions, live peacefully, and only return home after safety, and not go to rivers, streams, or landslide areas on their own to avoid danger to their lives.

Based on the actual inspection, through listening to reports and directly listening to people's opinions, the Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged and highly appreciated Nghe An province for strictly following the direction of the Secretariat and the Prime Minister in the work of absolutely ensuring people's lives and minimizing damage.
Emphasizing that the weather and flood situation is still complicated, flash floods can occur at any time, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the Party Committees and authorities of Nghe An province not to be subjective, and must urgently deploy plans to ensure the safety of people's lives and property and the state.



The work of directing, urging, and inspecting storm prevention and control must be carried out regularly, proactively, closely following the reality and promptly following the motto "4 on-site"; continue to strengthen propaganda so that people do not go to vulnerable places that could endanger their lives.
In particular, Nghe An province proactively checks vulnerable areas to avoid being passive in situations that may arise. Although it is not raining at the moment, people must absolutely not be subjective and go to the river or go through vulnerable areas.



Regarding the 5 communes in the province that are still completely isolated and dozens of villages and hamlets that are partially isolated, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh requested Nghe An province to closely coordinate with the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 4 to use helicopters to transport food, necessities, medicine, and drinking water to the people, so that no one goes hungry or thirsty during the floods.
