The 15th National Assembly convened an extraordinary session to elect the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly decided to convene the 4th Extraordinary Session of the 15th National Assembly to complete the personnel of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The Secretary General of the National Assembly has just announced the Program of the 4th Extraordinary Session of the 15th National Assembly.
Specifically, based on the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Law on Organization of the National Assembly No. 57/2014/QH13, which has been amended and supplemented by a number of articles under Law No. 65/2020/QH14, the Rules of the National Assembly session issued together with Resolution No. 102/2015/QH13 dated November 24, 2015 of the National Assembly, the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly decided to convene the 4th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly to complete the personnel of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The 4th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly took place on the morning of March 2, 2023 at the National Assembly House.
According to the program, the Oath-taking Ceremony of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam will be broadcast live on VTV1 Channel - Vietnam Television, VOV1 Channel - Voice of Vietnam and Vietnam National Assembly Television from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on the same day.
The reorganization of this senior personnel position was carried out after the 15th National Assembly dismissed Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc from the position of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term and removed him from the position of National Assembly delegate for the 15th term at the 3rd extraordinary session, which took place on January 18, 2023.
Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan will hold the position of Acting President until the National Assembly elects a new President tomorrow./.
