Driver gets 7-month suspended sentence for knocking over police officer investigating crime scene
A traffic collision occurred, Thai barricaded himself in the car, drove into a house, and attacked the police when he was restrained.
The verdict dated March 7 of the People's Court of Thach Ha district (Ha Tinh) determined that at around 11:40 p.m. on November 29, 2017, Tran Cong Thai (39 years old) had a traffic collision with Hoang Van Duy (24 years old) at the intersection of Thach Tan commune (Thach Ha district), causing damage to their car.

When the Thach Ha District Police team arrived to investigate, Thai was still sitting in the car, uncooperative. A moment later, when the authorities were examining the scene, Thai started the engine, reversed the car, and drove forward, crashing into a nearby house, causing a loud explosion and smoke.
Being restrained, Thai insulted, insulted, attacked, and pushed Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Hong Quynh to the ground. The police had to increase their force to arrest this driver.
The People's Court sentenced Thai to seven months in prison, suspended, for the crime of Resisting a Person on Official Duty.
