Strengthening coordination between market management departments in the Central Highlands region
On the afternoon of June 24, in Vinh city, the 17th Conference on the coordination between the Market Management Departments of the provinces and cities in the Central and Central Highlands regions and the 67th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Market Management Force (July 3, 1975 - July 3, 2024) took place.

Attending the conference were comrade Hoang Anh Duong - Deputy Director General of the General Department of Market Management, along with representatives of 18 leaders, officers and employees of the Market Management Departments of provinces and cities in the Central Highlands region. On the side of Nghe An province, there was comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of Steering Committee 389 and related departments.

In recent times, the situation of transporting and trading in smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin, counterfeit goods, goods infringing intellectual property rights, and commercial fraud has remained complicated, with increasingly sophisticated methods and tricks that are difficult to detect.
The main infringing goods, such as sugar, clothes, children's toys, and electronics, are often imported from abroad or purchased from residents by wholesalers and distributors in border provinces, then transported deep into the interior by road for consumption.

Following the direction of the Government, the National Steering Committee 389, the General Department of Market Management, the People's Committees of provinces and cities, and the Market Management Departments of provinces and cities in the Central Highlands region have strengthened their grasp of the situation, proactively implemented plans to inspect and control the market; proactively coordinated, exchanged information, and coordinated among units.
Thereby, the market management forces of the provinces promptly detected and organized inspections and handled many large-scale violations, contributing to effectively preventing smuggling, trade fraud and illegal business.
From June 2023 to the end of May 2024, through market inspection and control work, the Market Management Department of provinces and cities in the Central Highlands region has detected and handled 19,505 violations in the field of trade, with a total fine of over 90 billion VND.

In recent times, the market management departments have implemented the coordination regulations well in providing information, supporting the organization of market inspection and control, exchanging experiences and professional expertise. The Market Management Department of Nghe An province has exchanged information with other departments in the inspection and handling of administrative violations, especially in e-commerce, food safety, counterfeit goods, and multi-level marketing.
To continue to effectively implement the Coordination Regulations, in the coming time, the Market Management Departments of the provinces and cities in the Central Highlands region have set out a number of key tasks such as: Continuing to maintain the exchange of information on developments and market inspection and control activities, promptly advising the General Department to direct and operate to achieve high efficiency in coordination work.

Localities strengthen coordination in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods on national highways through the Central Highlands provinces, including Ho Chi Minh Road, National Highways 14, 19 and 24.
Speaking at the conference, comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and praised the great contributions of the market management sector over the past 67 years. The market management force has overcome all difficulties and challenges, contributing meaningful and positive results to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

In particular, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the results of the coordination work of the market management forces of the provinces and cities in the Central - Central Highlands region; thereby, promptly detecting and preventing many cases of transporting and trading banned goods, smuggled goods, producing and trading counterfeit goods and commercial fraud.
However, there are still many difficulties and challenges on this front, requiring the Market Management force in the Central Highlands region to strengthen the connection, unify policies and organize actions between provinces in the region to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

On the side of Nghe An province, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee will continue to direct all levels and sectors in the province to closely coordinate and create favorable conditions for market management work in the area as well as coordination between the Market Management forces of provinces and cities in the Central - Central Highlands region to achieve the best results, contributing to the completion of the tasks of the Market Management force in general and of each locality in particular.

At the conference, leaders of the General Department of Market Management and the Market Management Department of Nghe An province presented flags and flowers to leaders of the Market Management Department of Quang Tri province - the host of the Conference on the Preliminary Review of the Regulations on Coordination of Work between Market Management Departments in the Central - Central Highlands region in 2025.
