(Baonghean.vn) - On September 7, units and localities of Hoang Mai town, Hanh Dich Border Guard Station, and Vinh City Youth Union presented gifts and encouraged people in difficult circumstances in flood-affected areas.

*Morning of September 7,Town Party Committee, People's Council - People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of Hoang Mai townComrade Vo Van Dung - Secretary of the City Party Committee visited, encouraged and donated 50 million VND to the people of Ky Son district who suffered losses due to the impact of natural disasters in the recent past.

Although the gift is small, it shows the affection and concern of Hoang Mai town, hoping that people in flood-affected areas will overcome difficulties and continue working and producing.

On the same day, the working delegation led by Comrade Vi Thi Quyen - Member of the District Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, Chairman of the District Red Cross Society visited, encouraged and presented gifts from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society to households in Muong Xen town and Chieu Luu commune that were severely affected by the recent storms No. 3 and No. 4.

The delegation presented gifts to support 6 households affected by landslides in Muong Xen town, each with 1 million VND; 2 households whose houses were completely collapsed and 3 households with dead people in Chieu Luu commune, each with 3 million VND.

On this occasion, the delegation presented 25 gifts to grades 1-5, each class including 5 sets of textbooks and notebooks worth 5 million VND.

Puc village school, Nam Giai commune has more than 40 students, most of whom are from poor households; many families cannot afford to buy books and notebooks for their children to start the new school year.This is a practical activity of officers and soldiers of Hanh Dich Border Post to help poor students strive to excel in their studies.

*September 7,Vinh City Youth UnionCoordinated with Con Cuong District Youth Union to organize the program "Helping children go to school", giving gifts to students in areas affected by natural disasters and floods of two secondary schools and primary schools in Binh Chuan commune. Also attending was comrade Hoang Sy Kien - Deputy Secretary of Con Cuong District Party Committee.

On this occasion, the delegation presented 10 bicycles to 10 disadvantaged students of Binh Chuan Secondary School; 1,500 notebooks, 2,000 books and some used uniforms to students of Binh Chuan Primary and Secondary School. The total value of the gifts was over 20 million VND. The above amount was donated by the staff of the Youth Union.

In the new school year 2018 - 2019, Con Cuong district has 16,498 students from 49 schools at preschool, primary, secondary and high school levels. Along with efforts to overcome damage caused by floods, entering the new school year, Con Cuong district has received donations from agencies, units, businesses and philanthropists with a total value of nearly 7 billion VND.

The gifts given to the children on this occasion are to promptly encourage students in remote areas, areas affected by natural disasters and floods to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies right before the new school year.
