Thach Ngan (Con Cuong) devastated after flash flood

(Baonghean) -The flood that has lasted nearly a week, along with water from upstream, has caused 11/13 communes and towns in Con Cuong district (Nghe An) to be flooded.

The entire district had 40 houses flooded, of which 8 were swept away. The estimated damage to crops in the area was over 600 hectares, over 40km of roads were eroded, 19 temporary bridges and dams were swept away, 13 solid dams were damaged, and 1,200 meters of concrete canals were eroded. The initial damage caused by the flood in Con Cuong district was nearly 20 billion VND.

Here are some pictures we just took at 5:00 p.m. on September 13, 2011 in Thach Ngan commune (Con Cuong), where the flood had the greatest impact.


Thach Ngan is still isolated by floods.

The family of 2 mothers and children, Ms. Vi Thi Mui and her grandchild Vi Thi Dung (Ke Tat Village) were swept away by the flood and are in pain because of the great loss.
