Resolution No. 02, dated July 2, 2021 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee "On building and developing Thai Hoa town into a central urban area of the Northwest region of Nghe An" has determined the goal: Building Thai Hoa town into a type III urban area by 2025, a city directly under the province before 2030.
Most recently, the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, identified Thai Hoa urban area (developed in association with Nghia Dan) as one of the 6 urban centers of the province. In particular, Resolution No. 39, dated July 18, 2023 of the Politburo "On the construction and development of Nghe An province to 2030, with a vision to 2045" also oriented to build "Thai Hoa town as a dynamic urban area, the center of the Northwest region"...
Party committees, authorities, organizations and people of Thai Hoa town clearly understand the purpose, meaning and importance of the task of building and developing Thai Hoa urban area and have joined hands and are highly determined in realizing the goal of building the town into a type III urban area. On that basis, the town focuses on directing all levels and sectors to concretize the policies of the higher levels into specific goals and targets for effective implementation. The Standing Committee of the Town Party Committee promptly promulgates the "Project to build Thai Hoa town into a type III urban area by 2025"; at the same time, direct the Town People's Committee, Party committees and authorities of communes and wards to promulgate detailed plans and roadmaps, assign specific tasks to relevant groups and individuals.
The town also focuses on mobilizing and effectively using resources, using public investment to lead and mobilize social development investment resources, especially effectively promoting resources that the province's special mechanism has prioritized for the town. The works and projects included in the public investment category in the town are carefully evaluated and selected, with focus and key points, in accordance with the planning, creating a driving force to promote socio-economic development.

Monday,The town continues to exploit and allocate investment resources, prioritizing the completion of key infrastructure projects to create momentum and spread to promote socio-economic development, associated with the completion of the criteria for a type III urban area. Focus on accelerating the progress of key projects, such as: Uncle Ho's Memorial Site visiting Dong Hieu, Bau Sen Forest Park, the bypass project through Thai Hoa urban area and urban embellishment projects, completing and improving standards on traffic, lighting, cultural works, sports, trees, etc.

Thai Hoa Town is a young urban area, carrying within it the proud cultural and historical sediments of Phu Quy land and is entrusted by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee with the responsibility of becoming a central urban area rich in the identity of the Northwest region. That task requires the Party Committee, government and people of the town to make more efforts and strive in the coming period. The town is determined to strive to complete the criteria to be recognized as a type III urban area in 2024, 1 year earlier than the target set by Resolution No. 02 of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee.
Through review and evaluation by the consulting unit, Thai Hoa town has achieved 80.02 points out of the minimum requirement of 75.0 points of the criteria to be recognized as a type III urban area according to the regulations of the National Assembly Standing Committee, corresponding to 54/63 standards. In 2024, the town strives to achieve over 88 points to prepare a profile for recognition as a type III urban area.
