Vinh City agrees with the proposal to open a second campus of Huynh Thuc Khang High School.

Previously, based on the Nghi An Commune Zoning Plan approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 102/QD-UBND dated January 10, 2020, a 2.35-hectare land plot was arranged to build a high school. The expected construction site of the second facility is only about 600 meters away from the construction site of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

The proposal to build a second facility is to meet the learning needs of students in Nghi An, Nghi Duc, Nghi Lien communes and neighboring areas when they currently have to go to school nearly 10 km from home, affecting the quality of their studies and potentially posing many traffic safety risks. According to this document, the Vinh City People's Committee requested the Nghe An Department of Education and Training to consider and advise the Provincial People's Committee to approve the opening of the school's second facility in accordance with regulations.

At this time, the policy of opening a second campus of Huynh Thuc Khang High School will also help parents and students reduce the pressure when taking the entrance exam to public grade 10 because according to calculations, from this school year, each year the number of students in the city will increase by nearly 1,000 students and increase even more in the coming time. Meanwhile, compared to many other localities in the province (such as Nghi Loc district with 5 schools, Dien Chau district with 5 schools, Thanh Chuong district with 7 schools, Hung Nguyen district with 4 schools, Yen Thanh district with 6 schools), the whole city of Vinh only has 3 public schools.

In fact, for many years now, the competition rate for high schools has been increasing.publicin Vinh city is the highest in the province (with the admission rate of only about 50 - 60%) and creates a lot of pressure for many parents and students. Many students, to increase their chances of admission, have transferred their registration to neighboring districts such as Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen... which inadvertently creates pressure for students of district schools.

Regarding the above policy, Mr. Phan Xuan Phan - Principal of Huynh Thuc Khang High School said: The construction of the second campus of Huynh Thuc Khang High School will create favorable conditions for many students in Vinh city and create more opportunities for them to be admitted to public schools. If the plan is approved soon, Huynh Thuc Khang High School is expected to enroll 10-12 more grade 10 students each year and the admission quota will nearly double compared to the present.

According to the plan, after receiving the document from Vinh City People's Committee,Department of Education and Trainingwill advise the Provincial People's Committee to approve the opening of the second facility and submit it to the Provincial People's Council for approval. Opening the second facility is also the most optimal solution at present, in the context of many difficulties in opening new schools./.
