Vinh City Party Committee summarizes Party building work in 2020 and deploys tasks in 2021

In 2020, the Party Committee, government and people of Vinh city focused on implementing and achieving quite comprehensive results in all fields, ensuring national defense and security; the work of Party building and political system building was focused on leadership, direction, dissemination and serious implementation by the City Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Party committees at all levels.

In particular, Vinh City has coordinated with provincial departments and branches to advise the Prime Minister to issue Decision No. 827/QD-TTg dated June 12, 2020 of the Prime Minister approving the Project to develop Vinh City, Nghe An Province into an economic and cultural center of the North Central region by 2023 in the spirit of Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW of the Politburo; advised on the draft Resolution on specific mechanisms and policies for the city in the period of 2021 - 2025 to submit to the Provincial People's Council.

Vinh City has done a good job in preventing and fighting the Covid-19 pandemic, combined with economic development. In 2020, the annual added value reached 21,154 billion VND; total budget revenue reached 2,850 billion VND.

The city has focused on attracting investment in 25 key projects; completed 119 basic construction works in the 2020 public investment plan. Culture and society have had many positive changes, especially being recognized by UNESCO as a "Global Learning City".

Over the past year, attention has been paid to the work of Party building, political system building, building grassroots Party organizations and Party members; successfully organizing Party congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term and promptly, synchronously and drastically implementing the Resolution of the City Party Congress into life.

The inspection, supervision and enforcement of party discipline by the City Party Committee has been carried out quite systematically and with the right focus, in which the task of inspecting party organizations and party members when there are signs of violations is prominent. In 2020, Party committees and Inspection Commissions at all levels disciplined 1 party organization, 36 party members, and suspended 19 party members from party activities.

With the achieved results, the City Party Committee proposed that the Provincial Party Committee recognize the Party Committee as "excellently completing its tasks in 2020". At the end of the year, the City Party Committee had 20 grassroots Party Committees recognized as excellently completing their tasks, and 68 Party Committees as good at completing their tasks.

Deploying the tasks of 2021, Vinh city has set out 27 basic targets on socio-economics, national defense - security, and Party building. The City Party Executive Committee will focus resources on effectively implementing the assigned tasks to create momentum for implementing the Resolution of the 14th Vinh City Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, the 5-year socio-economic development plan for the period 2021 - 2025; the plan to implement Decision No. 827/QD-TTg dated June 12, 2020 of the Prime Minister.

On this occasion, the Vinh City Party Committee Standing Committee awarded 10 grassroots party organizations that achieved "Typical Clean and Strong" in 2020, 2 party cells under the grassroots party committees that achieved "Typical Clean and Strong" for 5 consecutive years in the period 2016 - 2020, and 21 party members who excellently completed their tasks for 5 consecutive years in the period 2016 - 2020.
