Thai Hoa Town: The 2nd Congress of Uncle Ho's Good Children

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 8, the Standing Committee of the Youth Union and the Council of the Young Pioneers of Thai Hoa town organized the 2nd Uncle Ho's Good Children Congress in 2015 with 90 outstanding children from 19 teams, representing more than 7,800 children in the whole town attending.

At the Congress, delegates reviewed historical stories through traditional activities expressing the special affection of team members and children for Uncle Ho; the children reported to Uncle Ho the achievements they had made in the past time.

In the past 5 years, implementing the 5 teachings of Uncle Ho, the youth of Thai Hoa town have made constant efforts to achieve many results. The teams have organized many exciting emulation activities in studying, training and Association activities such as: participating in the contest "I love Vietnam's sea and islands", "I love Vietnam's history", "10-point flowers for teachers"... implementing the campaign "Young people follow Uncle Ho's teachings", building a bookshelf "Thai Hoa children follow Uncle Ho's teachings"...

The movements “Raising piggy banks to help friends go to school” have helped 128 children, with a total amount of 24,545,000 VND; “Drinking water, remembering its source”, “Repaying gratitude”, helping families with preferential policies, martyrs’ mothers, renovating martyrs’ cemeteries with 2,740 working days and giving 470 gifts, with a total amount of 41,550,000 VND. Of which, the “Small Plan” movement has supported 23 million VND to build red scarf houses, 30 million VND to give 19 bicycles to students in especially difficult circumstances.

Through activities that contribute to increasing solidarity, add more meaningful activities so that every day at school is a happy day.

With the results achieved, on this occasion, 10 outstanding children were awarded certificates of merit by the Secretary of the Town Youth Union for their outstanding achievements in the work of the Team and the youth movement in the period 2010-2015 and 90 delegates were awarded the title of Uncle Ho's Good Children by the Town Council.
