Prime Minister attends and directs the Conference summarizing the Culture - Sports and Tourism sector
At the conference, Nghe An province proposed that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism pay attention to supporting Nam Dan district in promoting tourism potential associated with cultural identity and people on national tourism information pages; supporting investment in cultural and sports institutions; renovating and embellishing national relics and the space for performing Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs associated with tourism development.
On the morning of December 18, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a national online conference to review the work in 2024 and deploy key tasks in 2025. Comrade Pham Minh Chinh - Politburo member, Prime Minister attended and directed the conference.

Attending the conference were comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member,Secretary of the Central Party Committee,Head of the Central Propaganda Department. Comrade Nguyen Van Hung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Deputy Ministers chaired and directed the conference.
At Nghe An province, comrades: Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired. Attending were leaders of relevant departments, branches and sectors.

The conference has the theme: "Building an advanced culture imbued with national identity - The driving force for national development in the new era - The era of the Vietnamese people's rise".
Many highlights in the year of acceleration
In 2024, with the motto of action: "Accelerate, be creative, reach the finish line", with the spirit of: "3 Determination, 4 Proactivity, 5 Efficiency", the Ministry of Culture - Sports and Tourism has thoroughly grasped the direction of the Prime Minister "only discuss action, no retreat" and set the highest quality requirements, effectively implementing the annual work plan and other assigned tasks.

In the fields of culture, sports and tourism, there have been clearer results in terms of awareness, action and results. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has coordinated with ministries and branches to advise and submit to the Government a report to the Politburo to issue the Conclusion, the National Assembly to pass the Laws, and the Government to approve strategies and plans in all fields.
The work of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values and cultural heritage continues to achieve new achievements. Many traditional cultural values of the nation are promoted, new cultural and ethical standards are formed.

The cultural industry has made breakthroughs with programs of great stature, appeal and social impact, contributing to the country's growth.
Vietnamese sports participation in international sports events has left many positive marks. By the end of 2024, Vietnam had won a total of 1,214 international medals, including 482 gold medals, 360 silver medals, and 372 bronze medals.

Vietnam's tourism continues to be a bright spot in the country's socio-economic picture. In 2024, there will be 17.5 million international visitors to Vietnam, an increase of 38.9% over the same period in 2023; domestic visitors are estimated at 110 million. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at about VND 840 trillion, an increase of 23.8% over the same period in 2023.
Cultural diplomacy has been actively and systematically implemented, shifting from the mindset of “Meeting and exchanging” to “True cooperation”. Cultural cooperation has significantly contributed to promoting the country of “Vietnam as safe, friendly, peaceful, hospitable, integrated and developing”.
Proposal to support Nam Dan district in developing culture and tourism
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee emphasized that in recent times, Nghe An province has focused on implementing solutions to develop the system of grassroots cultural and sports institutions, preserve and promote the value of cultural heritages, and replicate typical cultural models associated with new rural construction.

The province has advised on the issuance of many specific mechanisms and policies to support the development of grassroots cultural life. Currently, the rate of communes, wards and towns that have planned land for cultural and sports facilities is 96.3%. The number of communes, wards and towns with cultural and sports facilities is 96%.
From 2021 to August 2024, 8,150 billion VND has been mobilized from socialized sources to invest in, renovate and upgrade grassroots cultural and sports facilities.
Up to now, the rate of cultural families in the whole province has reached 84%; the rate of cultural villages and residential groups has reached 69.8%; there are 1,784 agencies, units and enterprises meeting cultural standards; 788 clans have been recognized as Cultural Clans; 485 landscapes have been ranked, including 6 special national relics, 145 national relics, and 9 national intangible cultural heritages.

Nghe An currently has 271/362 communes meeting new rural standards, reaching 74.8%; 83 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, reaching 30.6%; 11 communes meeting model new rural standards, 10 district-level units completed and met new rural standards.
Sharing the difficulties in developing cultural and sports infrastructure and organizing grassroots cultural activities, the Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism study and make the content of building civilized urban areas a component of the National Target Program on Cultural Development for the period 2026 - 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Strengthening resource mobilization for development
Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the role, position and importance of culture, sports and tourism to the country, as the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized: "Culture is the soul of the nation! If culture exists, the nation exists; if culture is lost, the nation is lost."

Recognizing, praising and appreciating the results and achievements that the Culture - Sports and Tourism sector achieved in 2024, the Prime Minister said that the sector has closely followed the leadership of the Party, the direction and management of the State, the support of the people, and the help of international friends for development.
At the same time, promote autonomy, self-reliance, self-strengthening, grasp the situation, respond flexibly to policies, and promote the industry's endogenous strength. Build people who are passionate, enthusiastic, enthusiastic, and responsible for the industry.
Orienting the tasks for the Culture - Sports and Tourism sector in 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that this is the year the country must accelerate and make breakthroughs in implementing the tasks of the term, with the goal of double-digit growth; carry out the revolution of streamlining the organizational apparatus; and successfully organize the 14th National Party Congress.

Therefore, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the industry must perfect institutions, create resources and motivation in the direction of mobilizing all resources for development, reducing administrative procedures, decentralizing and decentralizing more strongly, ending the situation of asking for and giving, and abandoning the mindset of banning if you cannot manage.
Promote comprehensive infrastructure development, especially digital infrastructure. Train high-quality human resources for the industry with an early and remote perspective, including appropriate mechanisms and policies to retain talent and encourage those who dare to do and innovate.
The Head of Government also requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to increase resource mobilization for development, in which State resources are only the seed capital, leading and activating other resources, thereby developing the cultural industry and entertainment industry.

Besides, industry management must be smart, to do so, it is necessary to build a database, thereby turning the infrastructure into higher added value for the industry; building typical examples, good practices, good models to create movements and development trends.
Create conditions, opportunities, and mechanisms for people to enjoy a culture imbued with national identity, healthy sports, and inspirational tourism; strive for results in 2025 to be higher than in 2024.
