Continue to strengthen the work of clearing encroachment on traffic safety corridors

(Baonghean.vn) - Date20/1/2015, implementing the telegram No. 35/CD-UBND dated December 25, 2014 of the Provincial People's Committee on strengthening the work of clearing encroachment on traffic safety corridors (ATGT) and urban sidewalks, the working group of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee inspected the implementation situation in the districts: Quy Hop, Nghia Dan, Yen Thanh and Thai Hoa Town.

In Quy Hop district, according to the working group's observations, the encroachment on traffic safety corridors is still happening, especially in Quy Hop town, where businesses still brazenly encroach on the sidewalks. Meanwhile, the forces deployed to clear the area are thin and lack determination.

In Thai Hoa Town, on10/1/2015, The Town People's Committee held a launching ceremony to deploy the work of ensuring traffic safety and clearing traffic safety corridors in 2015. With the drastic participation of authorities at all levels, the clearing of traffic safety corridors has achieved many positive results. Up to date19/1/2015, the whole town has cleared about 22km of traffic safety corridor; dismantled and relocated 27 households encroaching on the corridor to the right place; collected and relocated 132 billboards of all kinds; trimmed 105 trees, demolished 3 masonry walls, 7 corrugated iron roofs and made a record of handover of responsibilities to 2 families; painted the road of traffic safety corridor.

In Nghia Dan district, through inspection, it was found that the whole district also organized a campaign on the day.10/1/2015. During the time from10 -22/1/2015, Nghia Dan district is assigning communes and towns to mobilize people to voluntarily dismantle, clear and sign a commitment not to re-encroach on traffic safety corridors. According to observations of the working group, up to now, the work of clearing traffic safety corridors in the district has had many positive changes. According to the district's plan, after the date22/1/2015, the functional forces of the district and localities will proceed to clear the encroachments that have not been voluntarily removed within the prescribed time.

In Yen Thanh district, after 10 days of operation, the whole district has cleared 450 tents, canopies, and billboards; trimmed 325 trees of all kinds. The district also organized a commitment signing ceremony for 1,000 households living along National Highway 7, Provincial Roads 538 and 534 not to violate traffic safety corridors.

According to the assessment of the working group, the work of clearing encroachment on traffic safety corridors in Nghia Dan, Yen Thanh districts and Thai Hoa town was organized systematically and resolutely, with effective coordination of relevant sectors, with initial positive results. Meanwhile, in Quy Hop district, the work of clearing encroachment on traffic safety corridors was not resolute and synchronous, so the efficiency was low, and encroachment on traffic safety corridors still occurred.
