Search for missing man in flood in Quy Chau
(Baonghean.vn) - As of 6:00 p.m. on September 28, a man in Hoa Tien 1 village, Chau Tien commune (Quy Chau) who went to visit the fields at 4:00 a.m. has not returned home. Authorities and people in the villages are actively searching for him.
That is Mr. Lu Van Khuyen, in Hoa Tien 1 village, Chau Tien commune. According to his family, on September 27, Mr. Khuyen was at the hut guarding his family's field, less than 1 km from home. On the afternoon of September 27, there was heavy rain and the water kept rising, so Mr. Khuyen's son went to the hut to check the flooding situation of the crops, and moved the livestock and poultry to higher ground. When Mr. Khuyen's son went to the hut, Mr. Khuyen went home.
Mr. Sam Thanh Hoai - Chairman of Chau Tien Commune People's Committee said that at around 4:00 a.m. on September 28, Mr. Hoai and the functional forces of Chau Tien Commune were on their way to inspect and support the people of Minh Tien village when they met Khuyen near the spillway bridge of Minh Tien village. "We asked Mr. Khuyen where he was going, and he replied that he was going to check the flood situation. We told him to go home to ensure safety, Mr. Khuyen agreed and returned. Seeing that, we continued to Minh Tien village" - Mr. Hoai said.
Not seeing Mr. Khuyen return home, all day today, the authorities, family, relatives and people of Hoa Tien 1 village spread out in all directions to search. However, the Chairman of Chau Tien Commune People's Committee said that as of 6:00 p.m. today, there was still no information about him.
Hoa Tien 1 village is one of the localities that suffered severe flooding, with water levels higher than 1 meter in some places, destroying more than half of the people's stilt houses./.
