Vinh City urgently cleans up and fixes broken decorative lights caused by tornado
(Baonghean.vn) - In order to overcome the consequences of the tornado on the evening of May 17 and ensure traffic safety, that same night, Vinh city directed the Green Park Company, the Urban Environment Company and related units to clean up the scene of the tornado.

By early morning of May 18, according to the reporter's observation, Lenin and Xo Viet Nghe Tinh avenues had been basically cleaned up, people and vehicles were moving normally.

Earlier, in the late afternoon of May 17, rain and whirlwinds caused decorative and advertising lamp posts and some trees on Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Avenue from the intersection of Pham Dinh Toai Street to Vinh Airport intersection to fall, posing a safety risk to vehicles.

According to the Vinh City Urban Management Department, 11 decorative and advertising lamp posts were completely broken, along with many advertising billboards on this route and trees were uprooted. Immediately after the storm, the city's functional forces arranged a team to promptly warn and direct traffic, so no unfortunate accidents occurred.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Duc - Head of Vinh City Urban Management Department said: This urban beautification project is under construction and has not been accepted and handed over, so the relevant unit will allocate funding from the advertising board sponsorship source to repair and fix it.
To ensure urban aesthetics and overcome the damage caused by the tornado, the City People's Committee also requested the construction unit to remove 11 broken decorative lamp posts and 30 decorative and advertising lamp posts constructed at the end of 2019 so that the contractor can re-check the structure for suitability; fix and ensure safety before reinstalling.

Along with checking and overcoming the consequences of storms on main streets, Vinh City People's Committee has directed the Environment Company and the Green Tree Company and the People's Committees of wards and communes to urgently review and re-examine fallen trees and trees at risk of falling to cut and clean them up and ensure safety for people; promptly organize cleaning of village roads and alleys to celebrate the 130th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh./.
