Solemn Ceremony to Celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Uncle Ho's Visit to Dong Hieu Farm

Attending the ceremony were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Nguyen Nam Dinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Ho Le Ngoc - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department and representatives of departments, branches and localities. President Ho Chi Minh visited his hometown twice, in 1957 and 1961. During his visit in 1961, Dong Hieu Farm (now Dong Hieu commune) in Nghia Dan district, now Thai Hoa town, was honored to welcome him. Here, Uncle Ho kindly visited, encouraged, and talked with the farm's cadres, workers, and people.

During the conversation with the cadres and people at Dong Hieu Farm, he emphasized the responsibility of the farm towards the local people. He also acknowledged and praised the achievements of the farm and pointed out the advantages in specific areas for the cadres and workers of the farm to strive to promote.

In order to preserve the souvenirs and memorable images of December 10, 1961, the government and people of Nghia Dan district (now Thai Hoa town) in general and Dong Hieu commune in particular built that place into a memorial area displaying documents, artifacts, and images of Uncle Ho and his hometown Thai Hoa.

At the ceremony, the commemorative speech presented by Comrade Pham Tuan Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Secretary of the Town Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Thai Hoa town, respectfully reviewed the beautiful and profound memories of the honorable time welcoming Uncle Ho to visit Dong Hieu Farm, Dong Hieu commune; expressed the gratitude and respect of the Party Committee, government and people of Thai Hoa town towards Uncle Ho.

Over the past 60 years, his precious sentiments and advice have always been engraved in mind by the cadres and people of Thai Hoa town in general and Dong Hieu commune in particular, becoming a compass and a strong source of motivation for the Party Committee, government and people of Thai Hoa town and Dong Hieu commune to overcome all difficulties and challenges, successfully complete political tasks, and contribute to the province and the whole country to beautify the glorious pages of history.
