Summer-autumn crop season dispute

This summer-autumn crop, Ms. Le Thi Kim Thoa's family in Luan Phuong hamlet, Dong Van commune (Thanh Chuong) planted 4 sao of wet rice fields. To produce summer-autumn crops on time and ensure harvest before the rainy season, her family, like everyone else in the area, took advantage of the water source to harvest spring rice and immediately sow summer-autumn rice.

This summer-autumn crop, Dong Van commune planted 218 hectares, mainly short-term varieties; up to now, the whole commune has planted over 50 hectares. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien - Head of Dong Van Commune's Agriculture Department: To achieve the set plan, the commune directed the Agricultural Cooperative to coordinate well with the Irrigation Enterprise after the harvest to bring water to farmers for farming, applying mechanization to production to speed up the summer-autumn production progress. With this progress, Dong Van will close the summer-autumn rice area in about 5 days.

Not only Dong Van commune, but also other localities in the district are focusing on directing the summer-autumn crop production. According to the summer-autumn crop project this year, Thanh Chuong will plant about 5,000 hectares;The district directs that the variety structure must be short-term varieties that are resistant to pests and drought. Only arrange summer-autumn rice on areas with proactive water supply, and convert high-altitude rice areas or areas at the end of canals to grow other crops...

Mr. Le Dinh Thanh - Vice Chairman of Thanh Chuong District People's Committee said,In order to achieve the planned planting area, from the beginning of the year, the district has requested Thanh Chuong Irrigation Company Limited and irrigation units to be proactive and store water; when harvesting spring rice, people build embankments to retain water to ensure enough water for planting and irrigating summer-autumn rice. Supply units must ensure enough materials and fertilizers to serve people in summer-autumn production.
