Awarding the Press Prize on the workers' movement and trade union activities of Nghe An province in 2022 - 2023

On the afternoon of July 26, the Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association to organize the first Press Award on the workers' movement and Trade Union activities of Nghe An province, 2022 - 2023.

Attending the award ceremony were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Ngoc Kim Nam - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department; leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation, the Provincial Journalists Association and related accompanying units.

The Press Award on the workers' movement and trade union activities of Nghe An province was jointly organized by the Provincial Labor Federation and the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association. This is a practical activity in a series of activities to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union and the 19th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Trade Union.

This year, for the first time, the award was held to encourage and motivate journalists and authors with good articles and works on the topic of workers' movements and trade union activities in Nghe An province.

The contest attracted the participation of a large number of journalists, reporters, collaborators and Trade Unions at all levels in the province with 120 entries by 95 authors, coming from 41 units and press agencies in the area. 4 types of contests include: visual newspaper (television), spoken newspaper (radio), printed newspaper, electronic newspaper...

According to the evaluation of the Organizing Committee, many works participating in the award are of high quality, profound in content and diverse in form of expression. Among them, there are many modern press publications, new forms of expression, many news lines, in-depth articles, reflecting many aspects of the work of the Trade Union, the workers' movement, labor and the lives of workers in the province.

Issues on protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers, housing for workers, labor recruitment; protecting workers' rights in implementing insurance and labor safety regimes; concretizing and bringing Resolution No. 02 of the Politburo on "Innovation of organization and operation of Vietnam Trade Union in the new situation" into life...

At the same time, many works have realistically and multi-dimensionally reflected the meaningful and responsible activities of those working in the Trade Union, especially in times when the country faced difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic; deeply portrayed the example of businessmen and business owners who always care for their workers; are shining examples of female workers who overcome circumstances and fate to become exemplary workers; are workers with many initiatives that benefit the unit with billions of dong...

Based on the scoring regulations, the preliminary round jury independently selected 58/108 works for the final round. As a result, 43 works won prizes, including 3 first prizes, 8 second prizes, 12 third prizes and 20 consolation prizes.

On this occasion, the Provincial Labor Federation also awarded Certificates of Merit to two collectives with outstanding achievements participating in the first Press Award on workers' movements and Trade Union activities in Nghe An province, namely the Education Trade Union and the Quy Hop District Labor Federation.
