Awarding ceremony of the contest to learn about the Western Nghe An Biosphere Reserve

(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of November 26, in Vinh City, the Management Board of the Western Nghe An Biosphere Reserve coordinated with the Nghe An Union of Science and Technology Associations to organize the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the contest "Learning about the Western Nghe An Biosphere Reserve" (DTSQ) held at Nghe An Ethnic Boarding High School.

Delegates and hundreds of students from Nghe An Ethnic Boarding High School attended the award ceremony.

After nearly 2 months of launching, the contest attracted 526 entries from students across the school, with two forms: multiple choice test and skit test.

The content of the contest aims to raise students' awareness of the organizational structure and functions of the Biosphere Reserve, the values ​​and characteristics of the biosphere; cultural identity of ethnic groups; indigenous knowledge; potential advantages of the biosphere; cultural conservation, forest protection, environmental protection, etc.

The contest has raised awareness of protecting forest resources and biodiversity resources in the homeland, and enhanced the spirit and sense of responsibility of the community living in the biosphere reserve.

Western Nghe An - a mountainous region, rich in natural resources, biodiversity, especially special-use forests, Pu Mat National Park, Pu Huong and Pu Hoat nature reserves with many ecosystems, beautiful natural landscapes, rich flora and fauna, many rare endemic species... Therefore, linking forest protection, biodiversity conservation with the preservation of traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities in the mountainous areas is an important factor for sustainable socio-economic development.

The contest is one of the activities towards that goal. Through the contest results, the knowledge about the Biosphere Reserve that the students acquire will be spread to their friends, family, hometown, and at the same time provide information for organizations and individuals to understand the Biosphere Reserve, especially those who benefit from the Biosphere Reserve, organizations and projects seeking investment opportunities in Western Nghe An.

The organizers awarded prizes to individuals who won high prizes in the multiple choice test.

At the end of the contest, for the multiple choice test, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to class 12A1, the second prize to class 11C1; and also awarded 2 third prizes, 5 consolation prizes to the groups; awarded 2 second prizes, 2 third prizes and 6 consolation prizes to individuals with good results.

In the skit contest, first prize went to class 11A3, second prize went to class 11A1.
