ELECT VIRTUOUS, TALENTED PEOPLE WHO ARE WORTHY OF REPRESENTING THE PEOPLE

The election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term will take place on Sunday, May 23, 2021. This election has extremely important political and legal significance to elect the highest State power body, the National Assembly, and to elect local State power bodies, the People's Councils at all levels.

Speaking at the conference, General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized that the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term takes place at a time of special significance. Along with the 13th National Party Congress, this election is an important political movement and a broad democratic activity among all classes of people.

This is an opportunity to exercise the people's right to mastery through the selection and election of exemplary representatives who are truly virtuous and talented, worthy of representing the people in the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels.

Fully aware of the importance and great significance of this election, the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the Government, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front have identified this as one of the important and central political tasks of the entire Party, people, and army in 2021.

The Politburo issued Directive No. 45-CT/TW dated June 20, 2020 on leadership of the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and the election of People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2021-2026 term, requiring the entire political system to unite, unify, strengthen coordination, focus, and make every effort to prepare the necessary conditions for a successful organization, ensuring that the election is conducted in a truly democratic, equal, legal, safe, and economical manner.

The General Secretary and President requested that immediately after the Conference, Party committees at all levels, Party organizations, relevant agencies, organizations and units need to focus on leading, directing and implementing well the directions and tasks of the election so that the election achieves the highest results and truly becomes a festival for all people.

During this process, General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong requested that it is necessary to pay attention to thoroughly grasping the viewpoints, guiding thoughts and major policies of the Party on strengthening the building and rectification of the Party and the political system, including a clean and strong National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels, especially in personnel work, selecting worthy officials to elect truly worthy National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels, with sufficient virtue, talent, qualifications, qualities, and capacity, equal to the tasks.

ORGANIZING IMPLEMENTATION WELL, ON TIME AS REGULATED

The conference listened to Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong disseminate Directive No. 45-CT/TW dated June 20, 2020 of the Politburo on leading the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and election of People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.

Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh disseminated Directive No. 02/CT-TTg dated January 14, 2021 on organizing the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.

Head of the Central Organizing Committee Pham Minh Chinh presented the basic contents and new points in Instruction No. 36-HD/BTCTW dated January 20, 2021 of the Central Organizing Committee on personnel work for deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels, term 2021-2026.

Comrade Tran Thanh Man - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front presented instructions on organizing voters' conferences; introducing candidates for People's Council deputies at commune level in villages and residential groups; consulting, introducing candidates, and making lists of candidates for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies in by-elections.

The conference also heard the National Election Council's Plan to deploy the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.

Summarizing the Conference, National Assembly Chairwoman and Chairwoman of the National Election Council Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan emphasized: The election results of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term will contribute significantly to promoting democracy, building solidarity and unity, and successfully implementing the goals and tasks of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

Therefore, after this Conference, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the National Election Council, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, provinces, cities and relevant agencies will continue to closely coordinate, strengthen leadership, direction, guidance and organize good implementation, in accordance with the time frames prescribed by law on elections.

The implementation of the election work in the coming time is very urgent with a huge amount of work, taking place nationwide. Therefore, the Chairman of the National Election Council requested the focused leadership of Party committees at all levels, the active and responsible participation of the entire political system to implement the election work in accordance with regulations.

Immediately after the National Conference, at the Nghe An bridge, speaking to the provincial delegates attending the Conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Xuan Son emphasized: The Central Committee clearly identified this as an important political event of the country and a key task of the entire Party, the entire people and the entire political system in 2021, so it requires that it be implemented well.

The task of implementing the election took place under very urgent time conditions, coinciding with the 13th National Congress of the Party and the Lunar New Year 2021. Therefore, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested that localities must carry out the tasks urgently, in accordance with the process, strictly, actively and effectively.
