Dismantling 2 drug cases, seizing more than 1.3 billion heroin cakes

According to documents from the investigation agency, in early June 2018, through the work of grasping the situation, the police detectives of Tuong Duong district discovered that a number of subjects from other localities came to the area to buy and sell drugs for consumption.

Realizing that the above subjects' actions violated the law and complicated the local security and order situation, the leaders of Tuong Duong District Police directed the professional teams to establish Project 1218M and Project 1318M to fight and destroy them.

After a period of monitoring and capturing the movements of the subjects, at about 3:00 p.m. on June 27, 2018, Task Force 1218M received information that subject Dinh Thi Mai (born in 1979, residing in Xuan Hoa commune, Nhu Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province) would transport drugs downstream or to Thanh Hoa for consumption.

Immediately, the task force mobilized reconnaissance teams to block from Ve village to Xieng Nua village (Yen Na commune), ambushing and catching the suspect red-handed.

As predicted, at around 6:30 p.m. the same day, the scouts discovered Dinh Thi Mai starting to move by motorbike from Pu Kem hill in Yen Na commune to the main road to go downstream.

At this time, the reconnaissance team was ordered to follow the motorbike carrying the subject. When they reached Xieng Nua village, Yen Na commune, seeing a favorable opportunity, the reconnaissance team suddenly swooped in and arrested Dinh Thi Mai, seizing on the spot 1/3 of a heroin cake (weighing 126 grams) and 188 synthetic drug pills.

Then, on June 28, the 1318M Task Force received information from the base that in the early morning of June 29, two subjects would bring drugs from Tuong Duong downstream and then bring them to Quang Nam for consumption.

The task force immediately arranged reconnaissance teams from Co Phao village, Yen Na commune to Xieng Lip village intersection, Yen Hoa commune, Tuong Duong district to wait for orders. At around 1:00 a.m. on June 29, the reconnaissance teams discovered two subjects starting to move from Pu Kem hill by motorbike. When they reached Xieng Lip village, they were controlled and arrested on the spot by the police force.

The suspects are Ha Thi Hai Yen (born in 1984, residing in Nghia Hung commune, Nghia Dan district) and Truong Van Thach (born in 1995, residing in Binh Tri commune, Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province). The seized evidence includes 1 heroin cake, 1 motorbike and 4 mobile phones.

At the investigation agency, the subjects initially declared that they went to Tuong Duong district to buy drugs to bring to Thanh Hoa and Quang Nam provinces for consumption.

Currently, the Tuong Duong District Police are continuing to investigate and clarify the cases to handle the subjects according to the provisions of the law.
