Nghi Duc Secondary School (Vinh City) receives National Standard Recognition Certificate.

60 years since its establishment

Nghi Duc Secondary School was established in 1960 in Nghi Loc District. Initially, the school was called Nghi Duc Primary and Secondary School, with Mr. Nguyen Tri Thang as its first principal. In August 1992, the school was separated from Nghi Duc Primary and Secondary School by a decision of the Nghi Loc District People's Committee and renamed Nghi Duc Secondary School, with Mr. Tran Van Thuyen appointed as its principal. From July 2008, after Nghi Duc commune was merged into Vinh City, Nghi Duc Secondary School was also merged into Vinh City, with Mr. Ha Quoc Tri as its principal.

During its development, the school's largest size reached 12 classes with nearly 400 students, and currently, although smaller, it still maintains a size of 10 classes with 383 students. The school is a public secondary education institution fulfilling the mission of universal education and comprehensive education for students aged 11-15, providing a source of students for high schools; meeting the learning needs and human resource requirements for socio-economic development in Nghi Duc commune in particular and Nghi Loc district, now Vinh City, in general.

Proud to be a National Standard School

Over its 60-year history, generations of teachers and students at Nghi Duc Secondary School have worked together to overcome all difficulties and challenges; from two rows of simple thatched and bamboo houses and two rows of tiled houses, it has become a spacious school with a strong team of dedicated and professional staff and teachers.the career of nurturing human resourcesand generations of diligent and successful students.

For many years, the school has consistently produced many excellent teachers at the district, city, and provincial levels. Both the overall quality of education and the quality of its specialized programs have always been highly regarded by higher authorities.The political and social organizations within the school all coordinate smoothly and effectively. The Party branch consistently performs its comprehensive leadership role well, and has continuously achieved the title of a clean and strong Party branch.

The trade union has successfully fulfilled its nhiệm vụ of caring for the lives of its members, creating an environment of unity, democracy, and discipline, and has consistently been recognized as an outstanding and strong trade union. The Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers' League has always achieved excellent results. The Parents' Representative Board is dedicated and actively cooperates in supporting the school in many aspects, truly serving as a bridge between the school, family, and society.

Throughout its 60 years of construction and development, Nghi Duc Secondary School has consistently performed its duties well, being recognized as an advanced and outstanding school for many years, receiving numerous Certificates of Commendation from the former Nghi Loc District People's Committee and the current Vinh City People's Committee; many teachers have received Certificates of Merit from the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee.

From this school, dozens of generations of students have grown up and are now contributing to building their homeland and country. This is a source of pride and motivation for generations of teachers to strive and work hard to fulfill the mission of educating future generations.

In the 2019-2020 school year, the school was assigned the task.Construction that meets national standards.aDespite its humble beginnings, limited human resources, and inadequate facilities, the school, with the timely support and encouragement from the local authorities and the parent-teacher association, and the close guidance of the City Education Department, has strived to fulfill its assigned tasks. In early June 2020, the school was assessed and evaluated by the Nghe An Department of Education and Training, and submitted to the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee for approval as meeting national standards.Level 1, August 2020.

The achievement of Nghi Duc Secondary School meeting national standards is a significant accomplishment for local education, but also a great honor for generations of teachers and students who have made immense, silent contributions to the school's formation and development over the past 60 years. This is a major milestone, paving the way for the school to reach new heights. Generations of teachers, students, and parents are all excited, proud, and committed to working together to maintain and further develop the school's tradition of excellent teaching and learning.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Cam Tu, Vice Chairman of the Vinh City People's Committee, warmly congratulated the teachers of the school on Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20th); and expressed her hope that in the future, the teachers and students of the school will continue to uphold their achievements, strive for excellence in teaching and learning, and successfully fulfill the assigned tasks.

Achieving standards is difficult, but maintaining them is even more challenging. Therefore, along with equipping schools with facilities and teaching equipment, teachers must enhance their professional skills. Schools need to closely coordinate with local authorities in mobilizing social resources to improve teaching facilities; and cooperate with the Parent-Teacher Association to manage and educate children so that they become good students, good citizens, and useful members of society.
