Previously, on April 18, Luong Manh Tuan, Luong Bao Khanh and Ha Nhat Anh went swimming together in the Luoc Lau area of Hieu River (both of them study at Chau Hanh 2 Primary School, Chau Hanh Commune, Quy Chau District). While swimming, Khanh and Anh slipped into a deep hole. Seeing this, Luong Manh Tuan swam out to save the two children. After pushing the two children to a safe area, Tuan was exhausted and was swept away by the current.

Hearing the children's screams, Mr. Lim Van Quy in the nearby area ran out and dived to rescue Tuan, but due to drowning for too long, he died.

In recognition of Tuan's brave act of saving a drowning person, the Central Youth Union posthumously awarded him the Brave Youth Badge. This is a noble reward for Luong Manh Tuan's brave act of sacrificing himself to save a person.
