Commending 3 students who found lost property and returned it to its owner

(Baonghean.vn) – Having found a lost wallet containing about 1 million VND and many personal documents, three 6th grade students from Hoa Hieu 1 Secondary School, Thai Hoa town, Nghe An brought it to the police station to find the owner to return it.

Thai Hoa Town Youth Union Secretary awarded certificates of merit to 3 students who found lost property and returned it to its owner.

On November 2, three students Phan Lam Huy and Nguyen Quoc Huy, both in class 6A, and Luong Vu Hoang, a class 6B student at Hoa Hieu 1 Secondary School, picked up a wallet on their way to school. At that time, the wallet contained about 1 million VND and many important personal documents under the name of Tran Van Nghe, residing in Long Son ward, Thai Hoa town.

The children immediately went to Long Son Ward Police Station, Thai Hoa Town, to hand over all the property and documents they found so that the police could return them to the owner.

On the morning of November 14, Secretary of Thai Hoa Town Youth Union Nguyen Thu Trung presented certificates of merit and rewards, commending the above 3 students at the flag-raising ceremony at the beginning of the week of Hoa Hieu 1 Secondary School for their achievements in the movement: "Thousands of good deeds - picking up lost items, finding the owner to return them".

Over the past years, Thai Hoa City Youth Union has cooperated with local schools to promote the movement: "Thousands of good deeds - find lost items, find the owner to return them" for students and have achieved many results. At Hoa Hieu 1 Secondary School alone, dozens of students have found lost items and returned them to their owners.

Talking to reporters, teacher Phan Quy Sam - Team Leader, Hoa Hieu 1 Secondary School said: In the 2015-2016 school year, the school had 25 students who found lost items and returned them with a total value of about 28 million VND. Among them was a 9th grade student who found a gold bracelet belonging to a teacher and brought it to the Team Leader to return it. In the 2016-2017 school year, 16 students of the school found lost items and returned them.

“For students who find lost items and return them, whether the amount is large or just a few tens of thousands of dong, the school will honor them in front of the flag and award them competition points. Through this, we encourage and motivate them to study well and continue to do meaningful work; at the same time, they are role models for other students to follow,” said Mr. Sam.
