U21 SLNA: Regaining the throne

U21 SLNA currently holds the record of 5 championships in the National U21 tournament (2000, 2001, 2002, 2012 and 2014). However, 3 years have passed, U21 SLNA still has not been able to bring home the 6th championship trophy.

Entering this year’s season, U21 SLNA continues to be tasked by the team’s leadership with winning the Championship Cup. Coach Dinh Van Dung – who has a lot of experience and is “good at” youth tournaments – has taken on the responsibility of leading the team. U21 SLNA’s immediate goal is to win a ticket to the finals.

In all aspects, the chance of passing the qualifying round for coach Dinh Van Dung and his team is very clear. Not only will they be playing at home - Vinh Stadium (hosted by SLNA), the young team from Nghe An also has "strong soldiers and generals". Needless to say, everyone knows the talent and experience of coach Dinh Van Dung. Under the direction of coach Dung "Thanh Hoa", U21 SLNA is truly a formidable opponent.

In the hands of coach Dinh Van Dung are a series of talented faces such as goalkeeper Duong Van Cuong, central defender Thai Ba Sang, left-back Mai Sy Hoang, right midfielder Nguyen Van Viet, striker Lai Duc Anh... Although there is no "support" from the first team like in previous years (in the first team there are no players under the age of U21), the current force of U21 SLNA is highly appreciated by experts.

Being in the same group with U21 Binh Dinh, U21 Dak Lak and U21 Sanest Khanh Hoa and being in the top position of the group, means that the ticket to the final round is difficult to escape from the hands of coach Dinh Van Dung and his team. Objectively speaking, U21 SLNA is possessing more advantages than its opponents (home field, home audience...). Being able to compete right at the "fire pot of Vinh city" helps Duong Van Cuong and his teammates feel more confident.

According to the draw results, the opening match of U21 SLNA will take place on August 5 and the opponent is U21 Binh Dinh. Three days later (August 8), coach Dinh Van Dung and his team will compete with U21 Sanest Khanh Hoa. The last opponent that the young team from Nghe An will have to face in the qualifying round is U21 Dak Lak (August 11). Hopefully, U21 SLNA will not disappoint Nghe An football fans.

The journey to regain the throne of coach Dinh Van Dung and his team will officially begin at 4:00 p.m. on August 5./.
