Thai Hoa Town People's Committee handles the issue raised by the newspaper
(Baonghean) - Nghe An Newspaper published on July 28, 2013 has an article: "Waste frustration" reflecting the environmental pollution caused by household waste in Thai Hoa Town.
Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 2214/STNMT-BVMT dated July 30, 2013 of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment on the inspection and handling of the content stated in the report. On August 12, 2013, the People's Committee of Thai Hoa Town issued Official Dispatch No. 463/UBND.TNMT in response to the content stated in the report, specifically as follows:
Currently, the project to build a centralized waste treatment site of the town is being carried out urgently, completing the road to the planned waste treatment site and the Appraisal Council of provincial departments and branches has approved the project's environmental impact assessment report. The town will start construction of the first landfill right at the approved planning point to meet the daily waste collection and treatment needs.
To solve the immediate problem of environmental pollution at two temporary landfills in Hoa Hieu and Quang Tien wards, the Town People's Committee has directed and provided financial support to local authorities to develop a plan to minimize environmental pollution.
On the other hand, some temporary landfills managed by wards and communes in the town will receive budget support for relocation according to the Prime Minister's Decision on targeted financial support to thoroughly handle environmental pollution for subjects in the urban public service area.
Thai Hoa Town People's Committee would like to receive and strictly handle comments and feedback from press and radio agencies and reports so that higher-level departments and agencies can know and direct.
