Catholic Solidarity Committee of the Northern Cluster launches emulation competition in 2023

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 29, in Vinh city, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee held the 2022 Conference and launched the 2023 emulation campaign in the northern provinces and cities.

Priest Tran Xuan Manh - Non-professional Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee; Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh - Vice President of the Nghe An Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Priest Phan Van Thang - Vice President of the Catholic Solidarity Committee co-chaired the conference.

Attending the conference were priests and members of the Standing Committee of the Catholic Solidarity Committee of the provinces and cities: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Ha Nam, Ha Tinh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were also comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Le Hong Vinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

Competition clusterCatholic Solidarity CommitteeThere are 13 units in the northern provinces and cities. In 2022, the units achieved important results in implementing the patriotic emulation movement among Catholics. First of all, it is necessary to mention helping each other develop the economy and reduce poverty. Many parish priests and religious have proactively met and guided the community of God's people to participate in economic development.

At the same time, promote humanitarian and charitable activities, show gratitude, help lonely elderly people; orphans, homeless children, the destitute, and the unfortunate; build solidarity in the community.parish, parishes with other religions. Charitable, humanitarian and charitable activities are regular activities of Catholics. Neighborhood relationships are well promoted, parishioners and parishes regularly visit and help each other.

Catholics in the Northern cluster are always conscious of complying with the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws; actively preserving a green - clean - beautiful environment, contributing to building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

At the Conference, delegates discussed the report's content, gave comments on the direction and tasks for 2023, and shared experiences in effective operations.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Le Hong Vinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee said: In recent years, with the high determination of the entire political system at all levels and all classes of people, including Catholics, Nghe An province has had a good growth rate, all socio-economic targets have met and exceeded the set plan. In 2022, the growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is estimated at 9.05%; budget revenue is estimated at more than 20,350 billion VND, an increase of 35.7% compared to the estimate.

The average income per capita in 2022 is estimated to reach about 57 million/person/year, people's lives have been improved. New rural construction has achieved many positive results, the appearance of the countryside has improved a lot. The whole province currently has 299/411 communes (including 252 communes with Catholics) meeting new rural standards, 20 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, 02 communes meeting model new rural standards...

Regarding the key tasks in 2023, the Conference determined to continue mobilizing Catholics to strictly comply with the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws; widely deploy the movement "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas,live a good life”. Implementing directive documents on patriotic emulation movements; contributing to promptly resolving the legitimate and legal aspirations of parishioners…

At the conference, the Standing Committee of the Catholic Solidarity Committee of the Northern provinces and cities unanimously elected the Catholic Solidarity Committee of Ha Nam province as the unit to act as the Head of the emulation cluster in 2023, elected emulation titles and launched and signed the emulation covenant in 2023.
