Nam Thanh Commune (Nam Dan) received the certificate of recognition for meeting New Rural standards.

(Baonghean.vn) - On March 18, Nam Thanh commune (Nam Dan) held a ceremony to receive the certificate of recognition as a commune meeting New Rural standards.

Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief of the Provincial New Rural Area Coordination Office, along with representatives of provincial departments, branches and leaders of Nam Dan district attended the ceremony.

Implementing the national target program on new rural construction, with the efforts of the entire Party and people, Nam Thanh has mobilized over 206 billion VND to invest in building welfare works; creating a foundation to promote local socio-economic development.

Over the past 5 years, the commune has focused on developing commercial services, transforming crop structure, building many production models, high-income fields, especially investing in developing farm economy. Thanks to that, the economy of Nam Thanh commune has continuously grown well in recent years. In 2016, the economic growth rate of the whole commune reached 7.5% (up 14.5% compared to 2010); average income per capita increased from 18.2 million VND to nearly 28 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate decreased from 17.6% to below 5%.

The movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life, building a cultural village, and a cultural family has received positive responses from the people. The rate of cultural families reached 86.4%; 13/17 hamlets achieved the title of cultural hamlet. Policies for people with meritorious services and social security policies, poverty reduction, and job creation have achieved many results. Health care and primary health care for the people have been well implemented: 100% of households have sanitary facilities. National health programs have been well implemented. The commune has met national health standards since 2012.

The rate of mobilizing 5-year-old children reached 100%; maintaining and improving the quality of universal primary education at the right age and universal secondary education. The socialization of education continued to be implemented effectively, the activities of community learning centers, education promotion funds, agencies, and clans were increasingly promoted, contributing to improving the quality of education.

At the same time, Nam Thanh commune pays special attention to leading and directing the building of a strong political system. For many consecutive years, the Party Committee has been recognized as clean and strong. Up to now, Nam Thanh has achieved 19/19 New Rural criteria.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief of the Provincial New Rural Area Coordination Office praised and highly appreciated the solidarity, joint efforts and unity of cadres, party members and people of Nam Thanh commune in implementing the movement to build new rural areas in recent times.

At the same time, it sets out the direction for Nam Thanh to continue improving the quality of the criteria in the coming time, in which, focusing on prioritizing economic development, promoting agricultural mechanization, innovating production organization forms, applying and transferring scientific and technological advances, aiming at a concentrated commodity agriculture, in order to increase the value of agricultural production; closely linking agricultural - farmer - rural development with industrial and service development to build a new countryside with new vitality and new appearance.

At the ceremony, 4 collectives and 4 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee; 2 collectives and 2 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Nam Dan District People's Committee; 8 collectives and 12 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Nam Thanh Commune People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in the local movement to join hands in building new rural areas./.
