Handling many business establishments in Vinh City openly selling electronic cigarettes

Despite being strictly prohibited and having strict sanctions against smuggling, counterfeit goods, banned goods, and goods of unknown origin, the business of electronic cigarettes and products used for electronic cigarettes is still being sold openly in Vinh city. The Economic and Official Crime Investigation Police Team (Vinh City Police) has taken action to handle many electronic cigarette businesses.

From late April to early May 2021, Vinh City Police handled 06 cases, seizing thousands of products.electronic cigarettes, essential oils and components, accessories of all kinds used for electronic cigarettes but without invoices or documents proving the legality of the goods. Among them, there are 02 electronic cigarette business locations that are openly displayed and disguised under cafes and fast food shops in Vinh city.

Specifically, on April 23, at a cafe on Phan Chu Trinh Street, Doi Cung Ward, the police seized more than 600 products used for electronic cigarettes; then on May 7, 2021, at a fast food store located at 72 Nguyen Thai Hoc, Doi Cung Ward, the police seized 60 electronic cigarette products, 20 bottles of essential oils, 10 packs of Dominex and Bride cigarettes, which cause strong hallucinations.

Business owners use social networks to advertise the sale of electronic cigarettes, which are products of unknown origin and are often used by the younger generation, especially students.

City police have seized all products for handling according to regulations.
