Yen Thanh harvests summer-autumn rice to ensure safety against epidemics
(Baonghean.vn) - Farmers in Yen Thanh district are entering the summer-autumn rice harvest season amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, local authorities are actively introducing many appropriate measures to help farmers harvest and consume rice smoothly, while ensuring epidemic prevention and control.

According to the report of the People's CommitteeYen Thanh district, this summer-autumn crop, the whole district planted 11,323 hectares, the output is estimated at over 60,000 tons. Of which, the rice output left with the people and purchased by the associated units accounts for only about 40%, the remaining 60% of the output is purchased by cooperatives in the district and traders inside and outside the province.
Mr. Nguyen Van Duong - Vice Chairman of Yen Thanh District People's Committee said: In the context of complicated developments of Covid-19 epidemic, the district directed localities to speed up the progress of summer-autumn rice harvest; at the same time, create the most favorable conditions for traders to enter the area to purchase rice, both ensuring trade and implementing well the work of epidemic prevention and control in the province.
Specifically, the district directed localities to conduct inspections, reviews, and develop specific harvest plans for each rice area that is over 85% ripe, and notify people to proceed with the harvest.
