Thus, up to now, Yen Thanh district has had 100% of communes and towns affected by African swine fever. The total number of pigs in Yen Thanh district that had to be culled due to the disease has reached 17,985, with a total weight of 830,649 kg. The number of pigs culled accounted for 18% of the total number of pigs in Yen Thanh district before the outbreak of African swine fever in this locality.

The localities that are currently the "hot" areas of the epidemic are: Ly Thanh, Phu Thanh, Lien Thanh, Hoa Thanh, Vinh Thanh, Phuc Thanh, Nhan Thanh, Long Thanh, Do Thanh and Kim Thanh.
The epidemic situation is complicated in the district, causing specialized agencies and local authorities to destroy pigs every day.
People in the rice district are worried that if the local government does not have a fundamental solution to effectively prevent the epidemic, the district's current pig herd is at risk of having to be completely destroyed.

Mr. Nguyen Vuong Ngoc - Vice Chairman of Yen Thanh District People's Committee said: The district's current epidemic prevention solutions focus on spraying disinfectants; tightening pig culling; strengthening sanitation and disinfection in residential areas, markets, and trading areas. Strengthening propaganda for people to voluntarily prevent epidemics by not coming into contact with pig slaughter, transportation, and trading.
People are advised not to use untreated river, pond, or canal water to bathe pigs, clean barns, or give pigs water to drink.
The most worrying thing is that in Yen Thanh district, there are currently 82 farms and 318 pig farms. If the epidemic continues to attack the farms, the number of pigs that will have to be destroyed will be very large. If the burial work is not done well, it will be a place for pathogens to arise and affect the environment. Previously, the epidemic occurred at a number of pig farms in the district.
By the end of September 2019, Yen Thanh district had allocated a reserve fund to invest in African swine fever prevention with an amount of 3.6 billion VND. Of which, the district budget was 1.2 billion VND, and the commune budget was 2.4 billion VND.
