Arrest of 7 boats illegally exploiting 140m3 of sand on Lam River
(Baonghean.vn) - In the early morning of October 12, Nam Dan District Police discovered and arrested 7 boats illegally mining sand and gravel on Lam River, seizing more than 140m3 of sand and gravel.

Accordingly, at around 5:00 a.m. the same day, during a patrol, Nam Dan District Police discovered 7 boats mining sand outside the licensed quarry area, in the Lam River section through Khanh Son Commune, Nam Dan.
Of the 7 boats arrested, 3 boat owners are from Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province, 4 boat owners are from Hung Nguyen district. Nam Dan district police have filed a case to handle according to the law.

With the drastic participation of relevant sectors and localities, in 2018, Nam Dan has taken many measures to combat the problem of “sand bandits”. Since the beginning of the year, Nam Dan District Police have arrested 53 cases of illegal sand mining boats in the district.
