Accordingly, the Hospital has sent 9 doctors to study Level II Specialist; sent 18 doctors and nurses to study Level I Specialist; sent 109 doctors and nurses to attend short-term courses, continuous training in specialties such as: Pediatric echocardiography, basic emergency, percutaneous nephrolithotomy, percutaneous biliary lithotripsy under DSA guidance, interventional radiology under digital subtraction angiography, basic endoscopic surgery in gynecology, endoscopic spine surgery, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal diseases, coronary angiography and intervention.

Deploy many new and specialized techniques

Identifying medical facilities and equipment as the foundation for applying and promoting new and specialized techniques, Vinh City General Hospital has focused on investing and carefully preparing the necessary conditions to meet professional activities, the ability to receive Project 1816, the Project on remote examination and treatment and training packages before signing cooperation agreements with upper-level hospitals.

In particular, in June 2024, the Hospital received the handover of the 2-plane DSA cardiovascular imaging and intervention system, which is the most modern generation of machines today. This system has many advantages and outstanding features: Helps to simultaneously capture blood vessels at 2 different angles in just 1 shot; helps to minimize the amount of contrast agent injected into the patient's body; automatically adjusts the minimum radiation dose while still providing sharp angiographic images; has modern features that AI-integrated software brings...

With that modern equipment system, it creates the premise for the Hospital to receive a number of new, specialized techniques in 2024, notably: Laser lithotripsy with an intervention team consisting of doctors who have been extensively trained in this technique at Hanoi Medical University Hospital - the cradle of laser lithotripsy. Vinh General Hospital is proud to be the pioneer in Nghe An to successfully apply the laser lithotripsy method, providing a safe, effective and minimally invasive treatment solution.

This is a method of treating gallstones through only a small skin incision of about 5mm. After the intervention, the patient has little pain, recovers quickly and is highly aesthetic; compared to a long incision in the middle of the abdomen to remove gallstones as before.

The superiority of this method is also demonstrated through the ability to handle complicated gallstone cases such as: Gallstones in the liver, gallstones with biliary stricture, gallstones that have undergone multiple surgeries causing adhesions, etc. The modern digital subtraction angiography (DSA) system with 2 planes provides maximum support in shaping the bile duct, helping to minimize the condition of remaining stones after intervention.
