(Baonghean.vn) - On behalf of the Nghe An Border Guard Command, Colonel Le Nhu Cuong - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of Nghe An Border Guard awarded Certificates of Merit to 1 collective and 2 individuals of Nghe An Newspaper for their achievements in propagating about the Provincial Border Guard in organizing and implementing the task of preventing and fighting Covid-19.
The Border Guard of Nghe An province manages and protects 468.281 km of border, adjacent to 3 provinces of Laos: Hua Phan, Xieng Khouang, Bo Ly Kham Xay and 82 km of coastline. The management area includes 61 communes and wards in 11 border and coastal districts and towns; the population is over 100,000 people with 7 ethnic groups living together. The land border has 1 international border gate, 1 main border gate, 3 secondary border gates, 4 openings and many border crossing points, causing many difficulties in controlling people entering the country.

To improve the effectiveness of epidemic prevention and control, the Provincial Border Guard Command established a shortened forward command post in Muong Xen town, Ky Son district; 67 fixed and mobile checkpoints with 545 officers and soldiers to block and prevent epidemics at border crossing points; prepared a centralized quarantine point to receive Vietnamese citizens returning from Laos at Mobile Company 1, Ky Son district at the request of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Nghe An province; sent 50 officers and soldiers to perform tasks at quarantine areas at the request of the locality.
Accompanying the provincial Border Guard force, Nghe An Newspaper has sent many groups of reporters to the border area, directly participating at the checkpoints blocking trails and openings to record the work of preventing the Covid-19 epidemic at the border as well as sharing the difficulties of the provincial Border Guard force.
