(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 17, comrade Nguyen Van Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Transport and the working delegation directly inspected the progress of the North-South expressway project, the section passing through Nghe An province.

Working with the delegation, on the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of relevant departments, branches and Hoang Mai town.

The North-South Expressway project through Nghe An province is about 87.84km long, belonging to 2 sub-projects: Nghi Son - Dien Chau section and Dien Chau - Bai Vot sub-project, passing through Hoang Mai town and 5 districts: Quynh Luu, Yen Thanh, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc and Hung Nguyen.

Given the importance of the project, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee have directed departments, branches, sectors and localities to mobilize the entire political system to take drastic action, focusing on prioritizing the implementation of compensation, support and resettlement. Up to now, about 87.76/87.84km of land has been cleared, reaching 99.91%.

Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang directly went to Quynh Vinh intersection (Quynh Vinh commune, Hoang Mai town) to inspect the project's progress and grasp the difficulties and obstacles.

The investor representative said that the Nghi Son - Dien Chau sub-project has a length of 50km with a total investment of more than 7,293 billion VND. The project is divided into 4 construction packages, expected to be completed by July 2023. To date, the value of implemented output has reached 54.5%, the capital disbursement rate has reached 53%.

However, in Hoang Mai town, there is still 50m of unfinished site clearance, a D800 water line has not yet been planned for relocation, affecting the overpass on National Highway 48D. In Quynh Luu district, there is still a 220Kv high-voltage power line with 2 locations being relocated, site clearance work for column foundation locations has been completed; 3 low-voltage power lines have not been relocated yet.

In Dien Chau district, there is still 20m of unfinished land in the area of ​​the National Highway 48 overpass approach road. In Yen Thanh district, site clearance for the foundation positions of 220Kv high voltage power lines is being carried out.

For the Dien Chau - Bai Vot sub-project, the route length is 49.3 km with a total investment of 13,338 billion VND. The project started on May 22, 2021 and was completed in May 2024. To date, the output value of contractors has reached 18% of the contract value, 6.77% behind the registered schedule.

Nghe An province commits to mobilizing the entire political system to resolutely complete the site clearance and compensation work, handing over to Project Management Board 6 and the investor to construct the North-South Expressway project through Nghe An province to ensure the required progress. In case of non-compliance, enforcement and protection will be organized to complete the construction in November 2022.

After listening to the reports from the investor, contractor and local representatives, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang highly appreciated the efforts of all parties. Regarding the difficulties in site clearance, the Minister of Transport requested Nghe An province to actively coordinate with the investor's representatives and relevant units to propose a final solution, with a specific progress commitment, in order to promptly hand over the site to the contractor for construction, ensuring the progress of the project.
