At 3:00 p.m. on February 22, when the tide had receded, hundreds of fishermen from Dien Bich commune, Dien Chau district (Nghe An) along with 3 excavators and many pumps were mobilized to salvage the stranded ship at Lach Van estuary. |

The local authorities mobilized excavators to scoop sand from the bottom of the boat and create drainage ditches so the boat could be lifted. |
