(Baonghean.vn) - The 2022 winter crop production forecast will take place in complex weather conditions, so it is necessary to have a proactive and extremely flexible production plan, according to the direction of the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development at the conference on the morning of August 26.

On the morning of August 26, in Vinh city, under the chairmanship of comrade Le Quoc Doanh - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with Nghe An province to organize a conference to evaluate the results of the project.winter crop production2021, implementing the 2022 winter crop production plan in the northern provinces. According to the general assessment, in the 2021 winter crop, the northern provinces have shifted the crop structure in the right direction, creating many high-value products; especially focusing on production associated with processing, creatingoutput marketstabilize and increase value. Thanks to that, the total production value reached over 34,000 billion VND, an increase of over 2,000 billion VND compared to the 2020 winter crop.

With an expected area of ​​about 400,000 hectares, the 2022 winter crop in the northern provinces will focus on production towards commodities, quality, efficiency, improving the value chain and sustainable development.

In Nghe An, the winter crop is identified as the main crop of the year, contributing to determining the agricultural production target for the whole year and increasing income per unit area for farmers.

Despite many difficulties due to weather fluctuations, being affected by many floods, while input prices increased, the province's winter crop output in 2021 still exceeded the plan. The whole province planted 33,700 hectares, with an economic value of over 1,800 billion VND, an increase of 218 billion VND compared to the 2020 winter crop.

In the 2022 winter crop, Nghe An set a production target of reaching the highest level in terms of area (35,430 hectares); this is a crop with high productivity, output, and value, following the motto of safe production, commodities, and high economic efficiency. The province has developed and implemented an early production project, identified the main advantages and difficulties, as well as proposed solutions on management, crop season, and technical processes; at the same time, issued appropriate support policies to support and promote the development of winter crop production...

At the conference, delegates pointed out the difficulties and challenges in winter crop production this year; that is, the preservation and processing of winter crop products still have many shortcomings, the output market is still difficult, and the situation of good harvest but low price is common. The weather is complicated,high input pricesis also a common challenge in agricultural production today...

“Our products are mainly consumed domestically, and the few that are exported are limited to “nearby” markets such as Korea, China, etc., and have not yet entered high-demand, high-value markets such as European countries,” said a representative of Hai Duong province.

After listening to the opinions of the delegates, the conference concluded with a statement,Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Quoc Doanhemphasized: Production is forecasted to take place in complex and extreme weather conditions, affected by many heavy rains, while the prices of materials and fertilizers have not "cooled down". Therefore, localities need to build flexible and creative production plans; production must be linked to the market. Localities need to proactively research, find output, and build production plans that meet market demand. This year, China is heavily affected by drought, we need to consider it an opportunity in product consumption, promote and develop production, increase value and income for people.

“The planting season and variety structure must be suitable for each region and area. Effectively implement support policies for plant varieties, replicate high-tech application models, and call for investment in linking processing and product consumption,” the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development requested.
