Monitor the flood situation inHoang Mai townAccording to our records, there was no heavy rain in the area today, however, because Vuc Mau Lake is still releasing floodwaters, the water level in the wards and communes downstream is still high and receding very slowly.

People and authorities in 8/10 wards and communes are still struggling to cope with the flood. In particular, many areas are still without electricity, and people are lacking clean water and food.
Faced with that situation, this afternoon, the leaders of Hoang Mai Town People's Committee were directly present at Vuc Mau Lake to discuss a reasonable plan to discharge floodwaters from this irrigation reservoir. In fact, if the floodwaters continue to be discharged, combined with the rising tides at night, many areas will certainly continue to be flooded.

Mr. Ngo Quoc Thang - Director of Hoang Mai Irrigation Enterprise said: Today, the unit has announced the plan to open a fourth spillway with a flow rate of 10 to 800m3/s. However, in reality, the unit only maintains two spillways. If it does not rain tonight and the water flow from upstream is slow, the option of closing one more spillway can be considered.
The town has assigned staff to coordinate with the management unit to closely monitor the flood situation at Vuc Mau Lake. If there is no more heavy rain, the flood discharge will be adjusted to avoid causing serious damage to the downstream area.
