Consensus needed to speed up site clearance for North-South Expressway

Many issues were proposed by voters

The conference recorded 13 opinions with many groups of issues from voters reflecting to National Assembly delegates.

Voter Vo Van Hung, Quynh Hoa commune, proposed that the Provincial People's Committee soon have a policy to build a road from National Highway 1A through Quynh Hoa Industrial Park to the North-South Expressway. On that basis, it is aimed at attracting investment in industry and creating conditions for job creation for local workers.

"It is necessary to speed up the site clearance process to build the North-South expressway so that people can feel secure and stabilize their lives and production," Mr. Hung said.

In addition, voters are concerned about the increase in crimes, especially drug crimes and human trafficking across borders. “The penalties for human trafficking are not really strict. We propose that the National Assembly consider increasing the penalties to eliminate this type of crime,” suggested Mr. Nguyen Dinh Luong, Cau Giat town.

Voters also made recommendations on issues such as: Vocational training for soldiers after demobilization; handling cases of fake war invalids; support policies for agricultural production; deforestation and environmental destruction; corruption; support policies for non-professional cadres, village and hamlet cadres, and building village cultural houses after mergers...

Speeding up the progress of the North-South Expressway

Clarifying voters' recommendations, Chairman of Quynh Luu District People's Committee Hoang Van Bo said: The route from National Highway 1A through Quynh Hoa Industrial Park is an important route into the industrial cluster, creating conditions for businesses to invest in transporting goods, so the district is currently making efforts to complete investment procedures.

The North-South Expressway passes through Quynh Luu district for nearly 14 km, involving 6 communes. This is a national key project, having a great impact on the socio-economic development of the locality and the whole country. Therefore, the province and district have focused on solving it, mobilizing the entire political system to participate.

The district has established a steering committee for site clearance, reviewed and supplemented documents, implemented compensation and site marking. Up to now, the progress has been ensured as required.

Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Thai Van Nong also clarified this issue raised by voters.

"To speed up the progress of site clearance and project implementation, in addition to the participation of all levels and sectors, consensus and coordination to create favorable conditions from the people are needed," the Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment emphasized.

Major General Nguyen Sy Hoi, on behalf of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, acknowledged and accepted the voters' recommendations within his authority; at the same time, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation will synthesize the recommendations to relevant agencies, departments, and branches and at the upcoming National Assembly session forum.
