(Baonghean.vn) - During the dry season, many wells in Mon Son commune (Con Cuong) dry up, some wells are polluted, while drawing spring water costs a lot of money.

On the afternoon of November 26, National Assembly deputies: Le Quang Huy - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment; Nguyen Huu Cau - former Director of the Provincial Police Department had a meeting with voters of Mon Son commune (Con Cuong). At the beginning of the meeting, delegate Le Quang Huy briefly informed voters about the content of the recent session of the National Assembly.

At the conference, most of the opinions of Mon Son commune voters focused on issues such as natural disaster prevention and control, environmental protection, and people's livelihood issues. Voter Nguyen Thi Nhuan said that most of the village's production land is located on the other side of the stream, making it difficult to travel during harvest and planting. Since 2017, when National Assembly delegates came here to meet, the people have proposed building a people's bridge, but so far there has been no action.

Some voters also suggested paying attention to the irrigation system in the area. Because in some fields, the fields have been abandoned for the past 2 years because there is no land for production. Voters also expressed concern that Mon Son commune has a severe water shortage during the dry season, and then forest fires. During the rainy and stormy season, landslides, flash floods, and landslides affect people's lives.

Pha Lai DamBuilt in 1999, the dam is now in disrepair, especially under the dam foundation. If there is a problem with the dam, who knows what consequences will befall thousands of households living directly below. Especially during the rainy and stormy season, people "cannot eat well or sleep well". We request that the authorities pay attention to this issue," said a Mon Son voter.

Faced with the constant threat of natural disasters, voters suggested regularly organizing training courses on forest fire prevention and fighting and storm and flood prevention. Supplementing equipment and supporting part of the budget for localities to prevent and fight natural disasters...

“The issue of environmental waste is of great concern to National Assembly deputies. However, in Mon Son, waste is treated by burying or dumping into rivers and streams, causing environmental impacts. We hope to invest in a centralized waste treatment area for 3 communes in the region,” said voter Quang Thi Van.

In particular, at the conference many voters expressed difficulties due to the situation.lack of water in summer. For example, in Tan Hoa village, many households still have to use polluted wells. The natural water source is far away from the village, and there is no budget to build pipelines to bring water back. In some villages such as Cua Rao, although many households have wells tens of meters deep, last summer they all dried up. These households had to travel 3km to Khe Moi to carry buckets of water for use, which is very difficult... Voters want to see investment in clean water projects in the area.

After listening to opinions, representatives of departments, branches and leaders of Con Cuong district directly answered all concerns.

Regarding the recommendations for investment and upgrading of works in the area, Delegate Nguyen Huu Cau said that the voters' recommendations were all legitimate. Mr. Cau suggested that the leaders of Mon Son commune re-survey all construction investment needs in the commune to reach an agreement with Con Cuong district and then include them in the medium-term public investment plan. Or include them in the new rural construction program...
