Vinh University honors 5 Good Students and 'January Star' award

Evening of January 6, Student AssociationVinh Universityheld the ceremony to honor the title "5 Good Students" and award the "January Star" award at the school level in 2021.

This is a meaningful activity to celebrate the Traditional Day of Students and the Vietnam Student Association (January 9, 1950 - January 9, 2022).

At the ceremony, the attending students also reviewed the traditions ofStudents' Dayand the Vietnam Student Association. Exactly 72 years ago, on January 9, 1950, the National Salvation Youth Union and the Saigon - Cho Lon Student Union mobilized and organized more than 2,000 students from schools, many teachers and 7,000 people of Saigon - Cho Lon to demonstrate to demand security for students, release of arrested students and reopening of schools.

Following the example and recognizing the indomitable fighting spirit of students in the early days of the resistance war, the first National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Federation in February 1950 in Viet Bac decided to take January 9 every year as the traditional day of students.

The 5th National Congress of the Vietnam Students' Association (November 22-23, 1993) in Hanoi decided to simultaneously take January 9 as the traditional day of the Vietnam Students' Association.

Promoting the tradition of the Vietnam Student Association, in recent years, the Vinh University Student Association has also done a good job of gathering and uniting a large number of students to compete in studying, training and having many meaningful practical activities.

From these movements, many examples of overcoming difficulties to study well have emerged, many typical examples in the youth movement, volunteer movement and many achievements in studying and scientific research.

The ceremony was also an occasion to honor and award 49 award-winning students."January Star"school level and awarded 62 students with the title“5 good students”2020-2021 school year.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien - Chairman of the School Council congratulated and commended the students who were commended in 2021. These are students who have enhanced the school's tradition and made important contributions to building the school's brand, as one of the key universities in the country.

From the results achieved, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien also hopes that in the coming time, the Student Association will continue to be a bridge and a support for students. From there, through the Association, the school's students will continue to cultivate moral qualities, practice good study, be good pioneers, volunteer, be ready for the integration context, and be a bright spot for students nationwide.
