Tonight (August 26), Nghe An releases water from Khe Bo and Chi Khe hydroelectric reservoirs.

At 15:05, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense received Notice No. 290/TB-KHPP from Khe Bo Hydropower Plant on reservoir water regulation operation.

To ensure the safe regulation of water in Khe Bo Hydropower Plant's reservoir according to the approved single-reservoir process and inter-reservoir process on the Ca River basin, Khe Bo Hydropower Plant plans to operate and regulate water in Khe Bo Hydropower Plant's reservoir as follows:

Estimated time of spillway discharge:At 20:00, August 26, 2023.

Discharge flow:Total discharge flow is about 500 m3/s to 750 m3/s (discharge through the generators and through the spillway) and can vary depending on the water flow to the lake.

Time to end water discharge through spillway:Until the water flow to the lake is less than the electricity generation flow through the generators.

Next, at 3:10 p.m., the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense received Notice No. 06/2023/TB-CT from Chi Khe Hydropower Plant on the operation and regulation of water in the Chi Khe Hydropower Plant reservoir.

Accordingly, Chi Khe Hydropower Plant plans to operate and regulate water in Chi Khe Hydropower Reservoir as follows:

Estimated time of spillway discharge:At 20:30, August 26, 2023.

Total discharge flow is about 500 m3/s to 800 m3/s (including through spillways and power generation through generators) and can change depending on the water flow to the lake.

Time to end water discharge through spillway:Until the water flow to Chi Khe lake is equivalent to the electricity generation flow through the generators.

The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense informs the People's Committees of the districts: Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Anh Son, Do Luong, Thanh Chuong, Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen and Vinh city; Heads of provincial departments, branches and sectors; Road Management Area II to inform the authorities at all levels, agencies, units, investors who are constructing along the river, on the river, owners of water transport vehicles and all people in the downstream areas of Khe Bo and Chi Khe Hydropower Plants to know and carry out necessary work, ensuring the safety of life and property of the State and the people.
